Minister of Defence Attends 200th Anniversary of the Mexican Navy
The Minister of National Defence and Border Security, Florencio Marin Junior was invited by Admiral Jose Rafael Ojeda, Secretary of the Navy of Mexico, to attend the two hundredth Anniversary of the Mexican Navy in Veracruz. During the October fourth event, Minister Marin met with the heads of Mexico’s four primary security agencies. He was also a guest of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico at the anniversary parade. According to the Government Press Office, the visit sets the stage for a more intensive future bilateral to discuss issues of mutual concern and areas of collaboration. Accompanying Minister Marin were his C.E.O., retired Brigadier General Dario Tapia, and Ambassador Oliver del Cid, and the Inspector General of the Ministry of National Defence and Border Security.
