American Airlines Adds Chetumal, Quintana Roo to Its Miami Routes
There is some exciting news out of Chetumal, especially for those living in the northern half of the country. American Airlines is now flying from that border town to Miami. The first flight landed in Chetumal today. The new route gives Belizeans another travel option, at least when the northern border reopens. At the moment the round trip flights from Chetumal to Miami are as low as two hundred and eighty U.S. dollars, a considerable savings from the same airfare from the PGIA. The flights depart twice a week. Belize may also see an increase in tourists entering Belize through the northern border with this new international access. Vice President of American’s Miami hub operations told international media today that quote, “This winter we’ve doubled down on our commitment to Miami, hiring more than one thousand five hundred new team embers and adding new destination, more frequencies to existing markets and more wide-body flying,” end quote.
