An Update on Territorial Dispute to the I.C.J.
The deadline is quickly approaching for Belize to submit its memorial on the territorial dispute with Guatemala to the International Court of Justice. By the rules of the court, much cannot be disclosed during this time, but on Thursday, during a press conference held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, News Five asked Minister Eamon Courtenay about where the country is with its submission to the world court.
Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs
“We are preparing the documents and we will file them on time. There is nothing more. We said this at the very beginning. We are restricted from speaking on this issue by our own attorneys and by the rules of the I.C.J. so we are working very diligently on preparing the counter memorial.”
