Prime Minister John Briceño conferred with honorary doctorate in Taiwan
Prime Minister, John Briceño was today granted an Honorary Doctorate’s by Kun Shan University in Taiwan, where he is currently wrapping up a state visit. Taiwanese Vice President, Lai Ching-te accompanied PM Briceño and his delegation to Taiwan where he was given the distinction. Earlier this week, PM Briceño was awarded the Order of Propitious Clouds with Special Grand Cordon, by Taiwan’s President, Tsai Ing-wen, for his role in advancing mutual ties over the years. Upon welcoming Prime Minister Briceño to Taiwan earlier this week, President Tsai referred to the PM as a “dear friend from afar.” The Prime Minister last visited Taiwan in 2006, when he was Deputy Prime Minister under the Musa administration. Belize is currently one of fourteen remaining diplomatic allies of Taiwan.
