Hemophilia Society formed
Tonight News Five is happy to report that the following stories we aired about the Bardalez family’s battle with Hemophilia and how difficult it is to get the expensive medication, a Belize Hemophilia Society has been formed. Viewers may recall that in January Francisca Bardalez was working hard trying to establish such an organization in order for affected families to have access to the life saving agents they need. The society is presently made up of seven members who are dedicated to providing information, education and support to those afflicted with hemophilia, a hereditary blood disorder. The society has promised itself to provide assistance to individual hemophiliacs and their families. They are seeking funding sources for blood clotting factors and other treatments to help control this potentially fatal disease. If you would like more information on how you can become a member of the Belize Hemophilia Society you can contact Doctor Andre Sosa an Orthopedic surgeon at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
