Ministry of Health & Wellness and Police Department Involved

Today, personnel from the ministry are on the ground in San Vicente Village monitoring and assessing the situation and providing clean and safe water to the residents. The Ministry of Health and Wellness has since certified that the water system is fit for reuse and that it will return on stream shortly. C.E.O. Valentino Shal says that the police have one person detained.

“This is a pretty serious matter so we also assisted the village leaders in filing an official report with police. The police responded very quickly and they have detained one person whom they suspect may have been responsible for this deliberate contamination of the water system. We have taken corrective action, we have involved the police and we have also involved the Ministry of Health in helping us to get the system back online.”

“Well the whole village is affected right now because they don’t have water so we are now moving water there today to ensure that they have water. Yesterday, people with symptoms, there were about six persons with symptoms and they are being treated at the P.G. Hospital.”

“The police are investigating, but initial reports are that it could have been a herbicide of some sort, some chemical agent, but the police will determine what occurred.”
