Japan Strengthening Ties with Belize
The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan is in Belize meeting with government officials. On Monday, he was a keynote speaker at a closing ceremony where over eight hundred and seventy-five thousand U.S. dollars worth of medical equipment was donated to Belize from the Government of Japan. During an interview with Vice Minister Kentaro Uesugi , he told News Five that his visit is also to strengthen bilateral ties with Belize.

“To strengthen our bilateral relation – that is why I came here to Belize and then this year commemorates our establishment of diplomatic relationship with Japan and Belize. And also in November with cooperation with the embassy here, we will have a Japan week where we can share and promote Japanese culture, but anime and games so that people in Belize can know about Japanese culture and then with this anniversary we will strengthen our bilateral relationship and not only people to people exchanges, but also what we have doing such as economic cooperation and then support for medical systems. We will continue with this relationship so that our bilateral relations will be strengthened moving forward.”
