Belizean Female Student Becomes Football Star in the U.S.

Women representing Belize internationally in football does not make the news every day, but we have one person to feel proud of tonight in that discipline. Jayda Brown graduated from Galen University last year and is now enrolled at Campbellsville University where she plays football with the university’s Tigers Football Team in the state of Kentucky. The Football Federation of Belize, F.F.B., wrote on its Facebook page that it worked along with the Women’s Department to begin one of the biggest initiatives expected to benefit women’s football in Belize. The federation invites all female athletes who wish to become professional players while continuing their education to start to play from an early age and to work hard at excelling that they would be able to earn scholarships from universities at the United States.
