Retired Stevedore Frustrated Over Unpaid Insurance Claim

Belize City resident, Elston Willoughby, was badly injured earlier this year while on the job at the Port of Belize Limited.  The career stevedore was wounded when a shipping container crushed his right arm. Since then, the waterfront worker has been forced into retirement after being deemed medically unfit to work. In the wake of the incident, Willoughby has been trying desperately to collect on an insurance claim, as he is in dire need of further medical attention outside of the country. He stopped by our office today to share his frustration with the insurance company.
