Belize City Lions Club celebrates week of activities

Story Picture
They are committed to serve the less fortunate – they are the men and women of the Belize Lion’s Club. The Belize City branch is this week celebrating its twenty fifth anniversary and members have organized a week of activities to let the public know about the work they do in the community. A two day exhibition opened this morning at the Radisson Fort George Hotel, highlighting some of the ways in which the voluntary organization has assisted over the years especially in cases of sight related ailments such as cornea transplants, cataract operations and detached retina. Also included in the week of activities are sight screenings at two primary schools in the city, the construction of a bus shelter on Mahogany Street and a banquet on Friday at the Radisson Hotel. The Belize City Lions Club today has a membership of sixty.
