“Tonight we gather under the stars to break bread and to celebrate a friendship, a friendship between the people of Taiwan and the people of Belize. My dear President Tsai I am aware this is your first visit abroad since the COVID19 pandemic and we are very happy to welcome you and our delegation to our shores here in Belize. I know that your ambassador has put such a tight schedule on you but I hope that you have gotten a chance to experience the warmness of our people, the Belizean people who are all very happy to have you once again in Belize. This visit has been one more step in the strengthening of our excellent relationship. Today, Belize and Taiwan remain united by our beliefs in those great causes like freedom, democracy, peace, the betterment of our people and the rule of law. So madam president, I want to raise a toast to you, the people of Taiwan and to everlasting friendship. Que Viva Taiwan, Que Viva Belice.”
