U.N.D.P. Regional Rep Visits Belize
Earlier this week, Prime Minister John Briceño met with the Regional Representative of the United Nations Development Program. The meeting was to discuss initiatives supported by the U.N.D.P. in Belize to improve the economy, develop infrastructure and achieve objectives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. And it would seem that Belize is doing great. PM Briceño says that U.N.D.P. wants to see how they can further assist the country with its development.

“They are saying our work is aligned with the sustainable development goals. And so it shows a sort of importance that they are giving to Belize, wanting to take a look at the work that we are doing and to see how best they can continue to cooperate with us. UNDP has been a good partner to Belize and they believe we can find ways to strengthen it for them to be able to do even more of the work that they do – for instance with digitization, with women with young people. So we are quite excited about that visit.”
