Mario Lubetkin

Lubetkin says that if respective countries can improve their food security systems, food production would be better and would benefit the people who are not eating well. He shared interesting figures of how much food we would collectively be able to start producing to be able to feed the people who are still going hungry.

Mario Lubetkin, Assistant Director General, FAO

“How we can create better condition to stay in the country. How we can create better condition to guarantee food for all. And better condition, no? Lunch, dinner, and breakfast – it’s not a lot, but it’s enough to think in other way the world. How many people we are talking the region that there are 56 million people with hunger. We are talking about 130 million or more that are not eating well. So it’s not – and the region is something like six, 700 million and the most contradictory in this region that this region, Latin American and the Caribbean can produce for 1, 300, 000, 000 people for food.”
