K.H.M.H. audit almost complete; commission soon to start

Story PictureThe K.H.M.H. Commission of Inquiry was established when the three commissioners were sworn in at the Supreme Court on July thirtieth. But since then, little has taken place because from early August representatives from the Auditor General’s Department have been working on the audit of the national hospital. But that work is yet to be completed. K.H.M.H. C.E.O. Francis Gary Longsworth, said earlier today that the auditing should be complete by the end of October. The commission of inquiry is then expected to begin its work.

“You saw the prime minister’s latest release, which says that the start up of the commission is dependent on the closing off of the auditor general’s investigation. That is expected to be finished at the end of this month. So we go with that time line.”

The K.H.M.H. Commission of Inquiry is being chaired by Supreme Court Justice Adolph Lucas and the other two members of the commission are Orvin Nicholas, a former Auditor General and Julia Castillo, a career nurse.
