Unsuccessful forger, Shannon Vernon, goes to prison

Also in court, a gas attendant lost his job and his freedom for stealing from the A&R Gas Station. Twenty-one year old Shannon Vernon was remanded to the Hattieville Prison today after he failed to meet bail on charges of Forgery and Theft. Allegations are that on November twenty-sixth, Vernon forged the signature of Jeyner Chuck on an invoice for three hundred and fifty-fix dollars and nine cents. Later that day, Vernon forged Elio Cansino’s signature, this time on a three hundred and thirty-nine dollars and eighty-eight cents invoice. For those offences, he was arraigned on two counts of Theft for stealing a total of almost seven hundred dollars. Vernon, who was unrepresented, told Senior Magistrate Dorothy Flowers that arrangements are in place for him to repay the money. No plea was taken because the case will go to the Supreme Court and he was granted bail of three thousand five hundred dollars, which he could not meet. So Vernon will greet the new year behind bars because he was remanded until January twenty-second, 2010. The theft was reported by Ignacio Mahung, Manager of the A&R Gas Station after he noticed the fake invoices and found out that they were forged by Vernon.
