Church collecting donations for earthquake victims
The three people displaced by the earthquake are Rochelle and Nerland or Stephanie Estiverne and their mother, Michelle Jubaum. Meanwhile, one of many church groups that have initiated fund-raising efforts for the earthquake victims is the Central Bible International. Our camera caught the group, headed by Pastor Nelson Juarez, as they began the relief drive for the victims. The pastor says he is encouraged by the outpouring of support from Belizeans.

“What has been the reception? Have people really been responding?”
Nelson Juarez
“Yes, many people from different areas have been asking for help.”
Marion Ali
“What are you asking for?”
Nelson Juarez
“They can bring money because we can help with the people of Haiti with money because we noh have ways to send a lot of things, that’s why we ask just for money.”
Pastor Juarez says he plans to close off the effort this weekend in order to send off the funds to the disaster-stricken island.
