Accused sex offender back in police custody

Accused sex offender, thirty-two year old Keon “Gambis’ Williams, is now in police custody after eluding the law for the past nine days. Gambis, who was supposed to be on remand at the Hattieville Prison since last Tuesday, was instead on the loose after two officers allegedly allowed him to walk free. A police inquiry is looking into why the magistrate’s order was defied and Gambis ended up in the streets instead of behind bars. Meanwhile, the families of Gambis and the victim, a fourteen year old minor, are engaged in a verbal war. On Thursday’s newscast, the mother of the accused, Enid Williams, denied the allegations against her son and claimed that the minor was lying about being sodomized. Today, the mother of the teen came to offer her version of the story.  To protect the identity of the boy, the mother gave an off camera interview.

as soon as there is a case on sex offenders keep putting their pictures on your website so we as parents know who these criminal ares so we can protect our children. Enough is enough! I am so proud of this mom and I hope she gets justice for her child.

its sad to hear what that poor boy endured before someone knew what was happening to him. the question i would like to answer is what type of police officers let a criminal go? can’t they read, if not they have the wrong career.

Let’s just say that “Gambis” was not guilty of the crime… what is the relationship between him and the minor? Why would the minor say something of that nature? If the story has holes in it; the only person who can clear it up to speak the whole truth would be the minor. It is not necessary to have a verbal war between the accused and the victims family. All that will cause more harm and shyness to the minor. The minor can tell the whole truth after which he may need counciling and we would have no doubt about what happened. In my opinion, if anything sexually happened; where is the doctors report which will assist in confirming the alligations? Over all; sex with a minor is illegal whether it be with a female or male. We all need to focus on where the real assistance is needed: The Victim. After some years without proper counciling, his future may have the same fate. Stay focus, allow the Law to take its course and make sure the minor is well protected to regain his place in society.

I am not sure which is more aggravating to me; the murder/suicide story or the the alleged sodomy on a minor. Both scenarios are tragic and the tragedy is compounded by the reticense of our police to investigate. Homosexuality is so widespread in Belize where grown men are preying on very young boys and nothing is being done! It is not worth a damn to complain to the police because they are just too dumb and indifferent to deal with alleged perpetrators. Trust me I know!
A man committed suicide last year in Belmopan. He was HIV positive and was alleged to have had a long relationship with a member of the Belmopan City council. The man who committed suicide is said to have recruited for the City Council man. A teen who is still a minor went before the Belmopan police to complain after he was kidnapped. Nothing has been done.
This story is so true and I have been trying to put it out there. We ran it in the National Perspective. So disgusting that we are so pretentious about domestic violence and child sexual exploitation. I wonder what the hell do we care about in Belize if we cannot display fierce compassion for our most vulnerable citizens.

I am sick and tired of Belizean men taking advantage of Belizean kids, Keon “Gambis” is a monster prying on kids and he should get a harsh punishment for his crime.
It is time that parents stop and listen to their children; listen to what they have to say. It is very easy for “monsters” like Keon “Gambis” to get away with rape, or harm against children by saying the child is lying.
This is a crying shame on the Belizean justice, won’t be long before another mother is crying for justice for her child.

  6. Eve says:

What is even more disturbing is that the reason why our country does not success is because of the people in the police force, if the man was remanded why the hell let him free, what would you have done if it was one of your own. Corruption is what’s killing beautiful Belize!

    Rebae Nunez,
Heterosexuality is so widespread in Belize where grown men are preying on very young girls and nothing is being done!
Pedophilia is a crime, not sexual orientation.
