Minor, 14yrs, shot twice during home invasion

Isaiah Milton

Isaiah Milton

Less than twenty-four hours after the Euphrates shooting, about a block away on Glenn Street, Isaiah Milton, a fourteen year old student from Salvation Army Primary School, was shot. Sometime around five this morning, Milton and two of his brothers were at their home when several knocks were heard at the door. Out of caution, family members did not respond, but soon enough, the door was stomped open and two men rushed in with guns blazing. Milton, who was laying on a mattress in the living room, was shot on both legs, while the others escaped unhurt.  Milton’s sister, who spoke to us off-camera, says that the minor is not known to be in any trouble with the law or otherwise.

“Do you know why anybody would want to shoot at your brother or anybody else that was here?”

Voice of: Sister of Shooting Victim

“We have been beefing up patrols as a result of these shootings. What happen, you would notice that when these acts begin, they can become cyclical at times and of course the improved patrol will deter. But, again, the Police Department is going to be very vigilant in terms of trying to patrol and do stop and searches and other methods to minimize such effects.”

Up to news time, Milton remains hospitalized in a stable condition. It is not known if the two shootings in the city were related.

these guys are getting serious and it seems that nobody can’t do anything, I would surely reccomend that this guys be hanged to death, only then we might see peace in our community, all these problems are caused by family breakdown, nobody else to blame but parents!!! Like it or not

II have lived in the US for years, I live in a large city and it is such a shame I feel much safer here than in the country where I was born, Belize will be losing out on a lot of US dollars Belizean-Americans are scared of the crime and will vacation other places, what the hell is little Belize coming to and seems like there is nothing anyone can do to stop it . What has happened to the morals of the younger generation.

what’s wrong with the Belizean people, you’re killing out your own kind. how stupid are you not to see that your actions have made the country unsafe. i was in Belize for September, and although i love my country i was scared to walk alone. the police and the community need to do something about these criminals that are destroying the country.
