Caye cop pulled off the job for sexually assaulting 14 year old tourist

In the San Pedro Magistrates’ Court, a police officer attached to the Caye Caulker Tourist Police Unit was interdicted after he was criminally charged for the indecent assault of a fourteen year old Canadian tourist. Police Constable Darren Casimiro was today arraigned following an investigation into the allegation that around eleven-forty p.m. on Monday, he assaulted the minor behind the Sobre las Ojas Restaurant on Front Street in the island. The Caye Caulker Police told News Five that since the charges, Casimiro has not been on duty.

“The minor reported that she was indecently assaulted by the police officer who was in uniform. As a result of the report made, I along with other police officers, we conducted an investigation into the matter and on yesterday’s date, police constable number 885 who is attached to the tourist police unit here in Caye Caulker Village, Darren Casimiro was formally arrested and charged for the crime of indecent assault. Subsequently he was taken before the san Pedro Magistrate’s Court where he was granted bail. At this time he is on bail and on interdiction.”
Casimiro was released on a bail of two thousand five hundred dollars plus one surety of the same amount. He is expected back in court on March thirtieth.
About time, some of these officer should jail them selves for some of the crime they have commit. One down… hundreds to go.
These people need to conduct their investigation properly.
It seems like the days of Belize having respectable Cops are gone. Growing up as a child in Belize a Policeman or woman was greatly admired, but all these terrible things I heard about the Police today is very embarrassing for my country. What is the Police Commissioner doing to bring back respect to his force ? And who are the youths to admire when they are surrounded by pure evil ?
are this persons incharge of the security? what will tourist community espect about belize? i read about crimes , assaults, and murrders daily what happened with the death penalty? innocent people die every day but the criminals are free to do it again.
The police are a part of the problem in that country, they commit crimes, and abuse people just like the low life criminals.
They hide behind their police uniform, and get away with murder.
HOW STUPID! One of the ways Belizeans profit is through TOURISM and you have people like this committing barberic acts and against a child, because he/she is still a minor. If he had someone done the same to his child he would not like it. “DON’T DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULDN’T WANT DONE UNTO YOU.”
