Arthur Young charged for illegal ammo and resisting arrest

Arthur Young

Arthur Young

Notorious figure, thirty-five year old Arthur Young and twenty-three year old Abraham Leslie were charged with possession of a nine millimeter gun which was found in an open lot in Ladyville on January thirtieth. .  Young, who was freed of a murder charge as recent as three weeks ago, claims he is innocent and that the charge is “bogus”.  But he and Abraham, a Ladyville resident, are behind bars for the new charge.  The two appeared separately but were charged for the same weapon when they were taken to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.  Magistrate Edd P. Usher read Young five charges, including two counts of Assaulting Corporal Glenford Gonzalez and Constable Valentine Young and one count of Resisting Arrest. Young was denied bail due to the nature of the offense.  But that was not all for him.  From Magistrate Usher’s courtroom he was taken before Magistrate Sharon Frazer, where he was read another charge of Failure to Report to the Police.  Police say that Young, after being deported from the United States on June third in 2008, was required to report to the Crimes Intelligence Unit every Friday, but that he failed to do so last Friday.  Young again pleaded not guilty and that matter was adjourned until March tenth, the same day he is due back in court on the weapon charges.  Meanwhile Abraham pleaded not guilty to the charges and was also denied bail. He is due back before the court on March twenty second.
