Belize receives scholarships from Mexican university
One component of the Caribbean Single Market and Economy is the free movement of skilled labor throughout the region. What this means is that Belizeans have to be more competitive and better prepared. The Mexican government is making available an unlimited number of scholarships to qualified Belizeans who want to take up bachelors and post graduate level degree studies. According to Marcelino Miranda, placement is available at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico (IPN), Mexico’s most prestigious polytechnic school in Mexico.
Marcelino Miranda, Press Officer, Mexican Embassy
“The discussion was about the visit of two representatives of the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. They came in order to offer a wide range of post graduate studies in Mexico and also other bachelor’s degree programs in Mexico. As well, they offer and explain the way in which Belizeans can apply for the scholarships to study at the I.P.N. in Mexico. The call for applications is open now. Its going to finish in November and they are going to have another call for applications in March 2010. And the good news for Belizean students is for those who want to pursue a post graduate program at the IPN in Mexico, they can apply for scholarships and the scholarships are unlimited in number. That means that as long as the Belizean students fulfill the requirements, they are eligible to get the scholarships. So we don’t have a limited amount of scholarships. We want to have more Belizean students to come to Mexico to take advantage of these big institutions and to come back to Belize and to apply their knowledge that they get from Mexico. Especially, I would like to emphasize that the IPN is the most prestigious polytechnic in Mexico and in Latin America. It was created in 1936 and now it has three hundred thousand students all along Mexico. They have eighty campuses so we are talking about a big infrastructure. And it’s something that Belizean students can take advantage of. They have big research institutions and they have big libraries and the technological infrastructure that is enormous. And also the range of programs that they have goes from medical and biological studies to engineering and social studies and other technology and I.T. programs.”
One of the requirements is that applicants have to pass a Spanish exam. Miranda says that any interested person can visit the Institute of Mexico on Barrack Road and can receive help with the application process. IPN representatives are also scheduled to meet with officials from the University of Belize and ITVET to enhance and strengthen technical and scientific cooperation between Mexico and Belize.

I would highly appreciate a positive response. Thanks in advance.
Mr. E. E. I think you should apply to a Mexican university and then take it to the Mexico Embassy or apply for your field of study at the Mexican Embassy and see what response you get…just a suggestion.
Mr. Ellis:
Not sure why you post your curriculum vitae and request here. The article directs candidates to the IPN offices on Barrack Road. Alternatively, you might contact the institute electronically at: http://www.ipn.mx/WPS/WCM/CONNECT/IPN_HOME/IPN/ESTRUCTURA_PRINCIPAL/INDEX.HTM
click on “aspirantes” or use the English function. As holder of a BA, and an instructor for comp sci, buisiness, and doc prep and management, you are no doubt aware of this. However, those adiministering the scholarships are not likely to see your comment here.
Best of luck.
Dude, if you’re so educated then you should know that if you want a mexican scholarship, you need to contact the mexican embassy. embarrassing yourself online won’t give you a scholarship. might as well you call the radio shows and tell them you want one also.
Well Emir, what you need to do is go to the ministry of education and explain your case to them and they will see what they have. Usually there are courses in spanish language for a licenciatura in Cuba as well as mexico. But truthfully the most available scholarships are to Cuba, that is if you are willing to go there
