Stephen Okeke loses case against UB for unlawful termination

The University of Belize handed Stephen Okeke his marching orders on August thirteenth, 2004. But the engineering lecturer wasn’t ready to go and felt that he was wrongfully terminated. So Okeke took the university to court seeking to have his dismissal deemed as unlawful and as such, to be paid damages by UB. Okeke, who was represented by Attorney Anthony Sylvestre, claimed that he was fired because he refused to become involved in deceitful activities. According to Okeke, UB officials wanted him to award credits at the Associates Degree level, but he refused to provide the material necessary to teach the course at that level. Okeke says he continued to offer lessons at the Diploma level and that led to a strained relationship with the administration, frustration among students and eventually Okeke’s termination. UB representatives, on the other hand, told the court that Okeke failed to carry out numerous duties assigned to him and that when he did complete his tasks, they were done negligently. He was also accused of missing classes to pursue his personal interests. In court today, Justice Minnet Hafiz-Bertram, ruled against Okeke because he could not provide sufficient evidence that the university was wrong in firing him. He was ordered to pay court costs to UB.

Stephen Okeke needs to go back where he comes from. He is corrupted just like the country he comes from. He might not even have any degree as he claims.

Can’t we just expel this guy from the country on a whole! Does anyone check the background and credibility of their papers and EDUCATION when they come into the country? I can’t believe with the high rate of unemployment we are giving out so many papers to Nigerians, or anyone for that matter!

YOU ALL ARE JUST SICK RACIST WITH NO LIFE……if you were intelligent and have something up in your head you might as well be employed to take up the position before a foreigner was hired
