Question raised over shooting: Did bicycle part resemble gun?

Oneil Anthony Jones
There were also other crimes committed in the wave of bloodshed over the past weekend. Two men were killed and two others seriously injured to add to the long list the Police Department has in its hands to solve. Firstly, the post mortem for O’Neil Anthony Jones, the fifty-five year old Jamaican national who was killed on Saturday morning, is complete. Jones died from a gunshot wound to the lower left portion of his back. The pellet which entered the lower back did not exit his body and it was recovered lodged on his ribcage. Jones was parting an argument at the Ruba Bar in Lords Bank Village when the police were called. According to one report, a woman who was present during the argument said she felt a metallic object on Jones before he left the bar. That individual allegedly told the police that Jones had a gun. News Five has obtained the pictures of the object that Jones had in his possession and it is up to you the viewers to decide whether or not at one in the morning, the bicycle gooseneck could be mistaken for a weapon. What we do know for sure is that while only one cop fired at Jones, both officers volunteered and submitted urine and blood samples to check for alcohol levels. It is alleged by Lord’s Bank residents that early in the night, the officers were drinking since there was a barbecue at the Ladyville Substation. One of the officers told News Five that the event was not for on-duty officers therefore they did not consume any alcohol.

This is so sad
my question is what about the woman who made the report of that obejt as a gun will she be charge for making a flase statment? hope her guilty mind make her live a guilty life of causing a death for no reason
Yeah the goose neck does look like a gun but Jew boy did not pretend that he was firing at the officers. He was leaving the scene and did not hurt anyone. He was shot in the back. DUH!
I mean I could see where the officers are scared because of the increase in guns on the street but they really have to sutter themselves a little. Probably more training will do.
The guy was riding home.so why did the police shoot him in the back .and that drunking skettel should be charged
The question is: Was the police officers life threathened to the point that they had to use deadly means of force? I believe not. Like Bonera they should be charged for murder.
they do need any off duty police officers carrying any weapons. they are as scary as the criminals themselves.
they should atleast gave him a head start 9.7 seconds to get out of there. I guest not all Jamaican are faster than bullet
Commonsense would say that if this guy got shot in his back that the threat if any imposed to the officers was minimal.I’ve got zero degree and i could have figured that out.As a result the commisioner should be able to do thesame.
yeah rite good excuse for the police officers. Why is it that they need to have the department’s licensed guns if they are off duty? and where and when does the law intervenes on innocent victims behalf? If i am an armed fugitive what happen to shoot in the leg? esp if someone is riding away? i wasn’t there and i won’t point fingers but i think that now the police department has to answer and be held accountable for this latest act of neglect on their behalf. lets hear what clement palacio has to say on this issue again like another g. mike reid he is paid to cover the police’s dirty work. palacio is clueless when it comes to things like this and he takes us for idiots when he poses infront of the camera and pretends he knows whats happening inside the department. lets hear what jeffries has to say? lets see what internal affairs will do about this. cause i am sure that this case will be just another statistic of file gone missing or just vanished in thin air or something of the sort. despite the guy is not a belizean by birth he is a human being and has people who cares about him. something has to be done. well we already know borrow has no comment for the things that are outta control in his country so lets see what the depart will do.
I think here in Belize some police officers are out of hand and something has to be done and not because they are police officers they have to behave like that. I think the Police department have to be stricker with the police officers because they are corrupted and only us the civilians Belizean people are suffering for all their so called mistakes. All i have to say is that they have to tighten up!
YOU GOT TO BE SERIOUS THIS GUY WAS SHOT IN THE BACK COME ON NOW, THESE COPS HAD TO BE DRUNK OR SOME DAMN MORONS. BELIZE IS IN A BAD STATE, THE PEOPLE NEED TO DO SOMETHING DRASTIC ABOUT THE WAY THESE GUYS ARE BEHAVING……….
