Students may be without teachers on Friday

While the B.N.T.U. says that it can’t close the schools, it warns that teachers will be away from the classrooms. Parents are advised to make a make an alternative plan for their kids because primary schools are expected to be understaffed on Friday.

Jaime Panti, B.N.T.U. National President

“What we are telling the public is that teachers, members of B.N.T.U. will not report to school they are heading to Belmopan.  That’s all we can tell the parents.  Obviously we expect what will happen after that but we are in no position to close any school.  We don’t own any schools in this country therefore we are telling the public that the teachers will not be in school tomorrow.”
