Belize City man caught with weed under his bicycle seat
While Ham makes his second appearance in the court, Steffon Anderson, has appeared in Magistrates’ Court three times before and on each occasion he was convicted of drug related offences. It was déjà vu today as thirty-two year old Anderson was charged after being caught with weed for a fourth time. He pleaded guilty to Possession of a Controlled Drug for twenty grams of cannabis that was found under the seat of his bicycle during a random police search last Friday. Anderson was fined seven hundred, which he is to pay by March thirty-first or spend seven months in prison. But after the proceedings, he was not allowed to leave because he owed the court six hundred dollars from a previous conviction and was remanded at the Queen Police Station until he paid up this evening.
what a pride for for the fire department.
so sad he had a job, and now for his bad habits look where he end up
People in Bze do not have money to pay court fines. My question is ? why keep asking them for money they don’t have.
What’s with the “random” police searches? I didn’t realize Belize was a police state.
While random searches are not the best way to
approach policing the country, I think the cops
are doing all they know how to do to handle the
situation. It is your country, stand up and say “NO!”
to this sort of stuff. Do not be so naïve as to expect
the police not to trample on your rights if you let them.
