Four others confirmed dead in accident
Earlier on tonight’s newscast we told you about the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of the highly respected businessman, Barry Bowen. Bowen and his passengers died after the plane crashed into a building in the San Pablo area of San Pedro. The passengers on board we are now told are two persons from Gallon Jug employed by Bowen and two children. Just minutes ago, News Five’s Marion Ali spoke via phone with Milo Paz, an eyewitness, who gave us an update on the tragic end of Bowen’s life.

“It’s a sad day today, we lost one guy that I can tell you is a friend of everybody noh. I am at the crash site right now, Marion, and all the officials are here now so they have everything in their hand. I can see the Coast Guard, the B.D.F. and the police working here in the crash area and yes, I can confirm to you that’s it’s the 206. Yes, it’s five bodies within the area.”

“All of them were on the plane right?”

“Yes.”
Marion Ali
“Have you gotten any identification of the other passengers yet?”
Via Phone: Milo Paz
“No, I cannot do that, Marion. I guess the police or somebody will have to give you that.”

“Okay, can you tell us what does the crash site look like now that you’re there looking at it?”
Via Phone: Milo Paz
“Alright, it’s a very horrible sight. It’s hard to explain. I’m here and I can’t believe it myself. It’s sad. That’s all I can tell you. I cannot even express it.”

“Was there an explosion or a fire from what you’re seeing?”
Via Phone: Milo Paz
“No, definitely not.”
Marion Ali
“But now you’re saying its five and not four people who are dead.”
Via Phone: Milo Paz
“It’s five bodies, yes. It’s three adults and two children. And at the moment the police and the Coast Guard are getting ready to move the bodies from the area.”
Marion Ali
“Okay, Milo do you know if these people will be working throughout the night? I understand the area is still cordoned off and will be for a while. Is the area safe to enter?”

“It’s a bit difficult. You have to go through some mud and mangroves but we are bringing light and a generator to help the process.”

“It is a residential area right?”

“Where the plane crashed, there’s no buildings around. The closest building is maybe two hundred feet from the crash site.”

“Okay, so the house in which the plane crashed is located how far away from where the crash site is?”

“About two hundred and fifty feet.”
Marion Ali
“So he crashed into the house and then he sort of glided to where he finally landed?”
Via Phone: Milo Paz
“That’s what I understand, yes.”

It is now confirmed that five persons died in the plane crash.
I send my condolences out to the Bowen family. Even though I don’t know them personally I know it must be very hard for them at this time. Barry Bowen was a generous man who helped the Belizean people in so many different ways, I know when I say that every one will miss Barry Bowen greatly, I’m not only speaking for my self. I hope that the Bowen family has the strength to get over this tragic situation. I know it will be like starting a new life all over again but I hope the family stays strong and rise above all diversity. Once again I’m sorry for their losses. I also feel the same way for the other families of the other victims. Life is a great gift so I want you to always cherish it and treat others in it with respect and love.
the word of God say he is close to the broken hearted, I can imagine it is hard to believe that four other died, Oh my it’s sad, to the other relatives I just want to say only God knows why it happen, someday he will reveal why all this happen, for now I pray for comfort and strenght for you all at this time.
Posts like that tends to make me very sad, I’m sure it is always cleache to say if we could all simply get along, but how much more of this stuff are all of us gonna put up with?
