Teddy Murrillo Jr. killed during weekend of violence

Teddy Murillo Jr.

Teddy Murillo Jr.

Another weekend: another murder in the city. The latest victim for the month of February is twenty-one year old Teddy Murillo Jr. who was gunned down as he headed home early on Saturday morning. And like in a number of past homicides, the family is grappling for answers on what led to the brutal murder of the student, who was not known to be in any trouble. While Danalyn and Teddy Murillo Sr. are seeking justice, a law enforcement official is accused of committing the heinous act. He has been released, but there is a lot of speculation that the murder spilled off from a romantic affair. News Five’s Isani Cayetano also went looking for answers today.

Isani Cayetano, Reporting

It is reported that Teddy Murillo Jr., an agriculture student at the University of Belize, was shot multiple times and left for dead while heading home on Waight Street early Sunday.  At about one-thirty that morning it is believed that Murillo was approached by occupants of a vehicle who shot him a total of seven times.  Strangely, he was not discovered until some two and a half hours later when residents in the area alerted police of a body in a nearby drain.

Teddy Murillo Sr.; Victim’s Father

“Dehn tell me dehn find one Teddy Murillo lying eena di drain by Waight Street. When get di get di response three-thirty di morning.  And when I talk to him and ih said one Teddy Murillo I said no noh dah Teddy Murillo deh.  He seh yes man and he show me di ID. I seh okay and as soon as he show me dat, I lef he right eena my house and I take off after di man.”

It is speculated that Teddy Jr., who family and friends describe as a devout Adventist, was gunned down by a police officer who lives a stone’s throw from the Murillo residence on Nurse Findley’s Crescent.

“Well rumors di seh it and I believe it.  I hundred percent believe because alright mi son get shoot one-thirty. When we gone by di crime scene di guys tell me when ih hear di first two shot because dah noh like di regular shooting. When he wake up and look pan ih clock it was one-thirty in di morning, alright one-thirty. When shooting like dat round ya and da many shooting happen and as soon as di last shot stop di ambulance and di police deh come.  Why two hours later dehn come and noh even wah ambulance come out deh.  And after dat seven-thirty dat dah what—three-thirty to seven-thirty—later dehn wah come, come inform me when dehn had di documents of him weh deh coulda come straight dah my house because ih driver’s license and ih social security dehn had so dehn know exactly weh part di person live.

A timeline issued by a relative indicates that Murillo and a few friends were approached by the same officer earlier that night at BTL Park.  Incidentally, a witness testified to hearing Murillo speaking with the officer minutes before the shooting took place.  That officer was detained for questioning in connection with the murder but later released.

Teddy Murillo Sr.

“And as Ih release and deh put ah right back pan di streets.  I get wah person tell mi dat—and ah noh di call no name anyway—as soon as di man come out ya ih start to di patrol and ih gone and gone harass wah guy by 88, threaten ah to.”

Isani Cayetano

“Now Mr. Murillo there have been reports regarding this particular incident that your son may have been a suspect in a burglary, any truth to that?”

Teddy Murrillo Sr.

“Di person could ah tell me dat if I have wah pint or whatsoever I have eena my hand I would lash deh eena deh face fi come tell me dat.  My son noh need fi go burglar nobody.  Ih no need to.  Ih have everything we ih mi need upstairs eena di house.”

teddy murillo drainAccording to the chronology of events, Murillo was last seen at about one-twenty on Sunday morning by Adrian Menzies, a friend of his, who spoke to him in front of Princess Hotel.  Teddy Murillo Sr. says information from the Police Department has not been forthcoming.

Teddy Murillo Sr.

“Well so far di police noh di tell we nothing so we just gotta wait fi weh dehn di say.  We just di try gather information.”

Isani Cayetano

“What has that been like?”

Teddy Murillo Sr.

“Well we wah know weh happen and why dehn shoot mi son.”

While the family waits for justice to take its course all Danalyn Murillo has to remember her son by is a graduation photo. Reporting for News Five, Isani Cayetano.

Not to politicize everything, but wasn’t crime one of the main platforms that the current administration used to win the election? We’ve seen no improvement in crime and it’s gotten even worse, more and more we see police being accused in killings. Belize is becoming like a corrupt banana republic.

  2. hayden williams says:

this is stupidness. isnt it the police job to protect us? what could be a good reason for that police to killed that young man. he had no right and i hope that the police force doesnt try and hide or avoid this case and that they treat that police like the criminal he really is i dont even think that he should be out here.it is now time for the prime minister to take action cause this has gone too far.that police should be behind bars.he is a murderer because he did the crime so let him get the same treatment that the other guys out here would have gotten.

  3. Realist says:

First of all…crimes will occur no matter what…finding a way to deter crime is should be the focus of the government…legitimate opportunities for individuals to help themselves should be offered but we must understand it will not happen with the blink of an eye..it may take generations…we should not be quick to point out what is true or false from a story we know nothing about…it is said that a police officer killed murrillo but do we know the facts of the scenario…we dont..the whole system of our nation should be viewed as corrupt…because things happen from the top down…it is unfortunate what happened but we do not know everything.

  4. macal rivera says:

really sorry to hear what happen to this young man, but if you are truly a good christian what was he doing out at that time of the morning?? Christians must remember that the devil is a roaring lion trying to devour Gods people, so as christains I just wonder at that time of the monring he should have been in bed sleeping after thanking God for another night!!

  10. BELIZEAN PRIDE says:

belizeans why don’t we as a concern group/country ask for the hanging of criminals to stop this madness. why don’t we ask the goverment to make change for us the corcerned Belizeans. i, mean don’t we have voices to voice our concerns and the goverment to apply the death penalty forget the human rights for sake.

  11. Belizean Princess says:

I never thought that i would loose Teddy to such a horific and grusome death. I pray to God that he does not have mercy on the idot’s soul who cruelly KILLED my love. He will never be forgotten and i will forever love him. He did no one any harm and he surely did not deserve that. I want justice and i want the person who did it to own up. Be a MAN. If you call yourself one. You know who you are.

  12. Queen J. says:

I love my brother to eternity!!! He was one of the world’s greatest and most loving brother, and nothing can ease my pain, not even finding the heartless so called man that could do such a thing. This never came to my thoughts that my brother would be a victim of such a thing. Everybody loved him and he will stay forever in our hearts and minds. We will not forget what a juvial peron he was. LOVED YOU TED!!!! AND WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

  13. Queen J. says:

MARCAL RIVERA. Christians aren’t perfect and i am very sorry if u feel that way or got the wrong idea. cause all i can say is that that was the dumbest comment i have heard since my brother’s death. You have to have no heart and be a selfish selfish person. I figured you have never felt the pain of losing a loved one. If you have, i would sympathize with u, if not then i hope you never feel this pain…. I would not judge you and your DECEASED loved one. don’t worry God still loves you and so do I. HE IS MY BROTHER AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE TED, NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS!!!!

  14. Ub central Farm says:

teddy was a classmate of mines, he was the heart of this entire campus…he was the sunshine in the morning and the bright beautiful moon in the night. its hard to belive that i would wake up after my birthday to find out that my teddy bear was gone. i cried whole day and i’m still crying. alli hope is that the police officer who did this horrific murder ends up in jail for a life time.Commissioner please do your job!!! 15. Shadow says:

Macal river dont be an …! Im a christian and i dont only have fun by praying im human as well. What we need to do as citizens of Belize is start capital punishment and star off with idiots like macal river.

  16. new york says:

those of you that saw what happen, I know your scared to speak up to police when police are going around killing who they want anyway. but, if we don’t make a stannd now, its will get worst. if this cop can shoot down a youngman from one of the most upstanding families in belize and get away with it then they will believe they are god and can get away with anything. stand up now…..stand with the family. the world is watching. take it to the press along with the family……be smart be careful, but do something. ask god for guidance!

the belize gov should be required to provide protection for those that come forward.

  17. Miss Diverse says:

Teddy dah mi one ah mi best friends why unu do this? ah? why? he had his whole life ahead ah he. Ova wah gial? weh dah wah dime ah dozen? come on this dah B.S. but karma’s a B@#$% when it returns and god shall judge this.

  18. macal rivera says:

guess what ME & soldier, the truth is what hurts!!!! but you cannot serve two masters at the same time, like it or not

  19. maddyvandijk says:

Although I can understand, and respect “macal rivera ” point of view on this sad story I would really appreciate it if other’s can participate in this discussion witout having to call other people idiots, ect.

I would like to think that the site’s improvement will allow us all to be a little more tolarant towards each other, we are adults here, not gangsters, or criminals, or ignorant. The last thing we need right now is to be less tolerant of each other on this forum, show some respect to each person, respect goes a long way.

I believe in freedom of speech, weather someone shares my opinion or not.
    respect, respect, respect………

  20. reggie says:

I think it is time for the people of Belize to take a stand and show the GOB we need changes now .Join forces with Yolanda Shackron in her march for justice.Teddy family is feeling the same pain as Galves family.don’t wait until you lost a love one.when you vote this GOB in was for the better.
But hard for me to see them change anything.who are all the elected official from the area?If they could have get the vote to be in office they should have the voice to go back and talk to their voter.or is the vote have more value than a person life?Always remember the criminal stay one step ahead of the law.If you travel around Belize in the night see how much policeman is out there, from what i c you have more homeless person than policeman on the street.

  21. macal rivera says:

I agree with maddyvandijk, we should respect each other opinion,in my original message I said it is indeed sad what happen to this young man, and yes I have no apologies cause we cannot serve two masters at the same time, according to the news I heard it seems that some robbery took place and the police was blaming Teddy, again what was he doing out at this time, yet I am not saying he committed any robbery, see!! wrong place at the wrong time, I am not condoning the action of the police, they must pay for the crime they comitted and I have been singing this over and over, those who killed innocent people should be HANG by the neck until dead, therefore if I hurt someones feeling I am sorry but again we cannot serve two masters at the same time.PERIOD

  22. Mellow Belizean says:

    RE: macal rivera

So if you’re a Christian you can’t go out after a certain hour because that’s sinful? Any Christian out late is “serving two masters” and is fair game to be shot seven times? Okay, Macal, tell us, what is the cutoff point before an evening turns from holy to sinful? 12:02am? 11:37pm? 8:15pm? Come on, just listening to it we know it makes no sense. Blaming the victim is wrong and that was EXTREMELY insensitive to post when the family and friends are grieving. From all reports, the parents are hard-working, the kids are studying, the family was to be featured on British TV as a strict family.

I only hope the family can take some comfort seeing the positive posts and know how well-loved Teddy was and how much he is missed.

  23. vigilare says:

First and foremost my deepest condolences to the Murillo family for the tragic death of their loved one. My prayer is that justice will be served and the killer(s) would be brought to justice. I must however, without solid prof, not tarnish another person, and by extension the Belize Police Department. I think that in our quest to condemn the person we think was responsible for the murder of young Teddy Murillo, we are by extension, without knowing might me demoralizing the hundreds of honest hard working police officers who go out there everyday giving 110%. These officers left the safety of homes and families behind to be out there protecting us. There are out there night and day sunshine, rain and during those terrible cold fronts. Many of them travel from their homes in one district to work in anther. After getting off duty it takes some of these officers up to 4 hours to get back home. Those officers who get off duty at midnight or thereafter, have to sit around the stations until morning, if not they are on the road, risking their lives again , by hitchhiking.
I beg, that in our quest for justice let us not, without prof condemn others.

  24. new york says:

    Macal,

Do you have any children? Do you have any idea what it is like to spend you entire life devoted to raising your child the Right way? The young man that was shot to death by this monster was 21-years-old, an upstanding student, and a Deacon of a church for the last three years. HOW MANY 21-YEAR-OLD DEACONS DO YOU KNOW? His brother is in Medical school to be a Doctor, his mother and father model parents( the Very best they come) his sisters are at the top of their class…heck the family was to be on a British Show Titled “THE WORLD’S STRICKEST FAMILIES”. Teddy was not allow to go out when he was younger. He is now in College and of age…..he was shot seven times in the back and you question his Christianity because he was out late one night with friends(other Christian friends) after leaving church?

    Macal,

I didnt know that Christians had a bedtime…..anyway, the focus should be on this crooked cop that may getting away with MURDER.

  25. new york says:

word on the streets of Belize is the cop is bragging about Murdering Teddy in cold blood, just because he felt like it!……we cant stand for this…..we have to stand up as one the entire Belize community Stand up my people. Who is next? Whos child is next? We cant let this go on….we cant keep turning the other way?

  26. ceecee! says:

when i first heard of this story,i thought it was strange that people claimed to have seen what had happened but the poor guy was left in the drain for 2hrs….which brought me to the conclusion that nobody saw it and this cop might just be a scapegoat because of all the wrong doings of the police force lately.Even the mother said she find it hard to believe that this cop / neighbor would do something like this because he knew this kid.Shame on the ones that saw it and left this man to die….Belizeans…i urge you to wait for evidence before you set out on a path to ruin a man’s life.If he is guilty,by all means he should pay for it but sometimes we have to pick sense out of nonsense.I wish nothing but the best for the family and may God bless us all.

  27. caitlin says:

i just wa say dat no one can take away the love dat we have for teddy because he was the loveing person i have ever know in this world and he ever called me dancer cause i dance at church . NEVER FORGOTING ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. ceecee! says:

Yes New York, how intelligent that sounds. You ever heard of people getting convicted with “word on the street? The one thing i can tell you about my Belizean people is that we see one very small incident and by the time we get through telling the story of that incident ,the shit have arms, legs,a head and a body.Sometimes we don’t take the time out to listen to the things we say because we are so much in a hurry to ruin others.Ever heard of intelligent people sounding like a js…well this is one of those comments.”word on the street”…hahaha!..somebody please slap me.

  29. ceecee! says:

Macal,i support you with much of what you have to say but i cannot do that in this case.Thats the one intelligent thing new york said. This was a good christian kid (word on the street) and i know the older folks in his family and these are good people.Even if they were hanging out untill 5 in the morning that doesn’t mean they were doing anything that they weren’t supposed to be doing .Lets just honor the kid cause we cannot say that for a lot of the youths in Belize. He was a good kid and God bless his soul.

  30. BJ says:

When I first heard that Teddy was gone.. I couldnt beleve it!!! and I still dont believe it!! Teddy was like a brother to me!! Me n teddy grew up together!! Primary school.. I was always at his house…. high school… then when we both went to UB i would see him on weekends at church. Teddy was the JOY!! Of every saturday at church!! He kept ppl laughing.. n smiling.. n happy! He will forever be loved and missed! and I REALLY DONT CARE ABOUT WHAT TIME HE WAS GOING HOME MACAL!!!! Which 21 year old u know is in bed by 10?? I mean seriously!! Dont blame Teddy for his death!!! A heartless trigger happy police is the one to blame!! But I am comforted.. knowing that if he does not recieve earthly punishment.. HE IS GOING TO BURN IN HELL ANYWAYS!!!! I hope justice is served… and that our young men will stop being victims of these henous crimes!! God Bless the good honest police men.. all the rest can go to hell! R.I.PTeds…Love U! Going to ur house will feel empty without u there.. :'(

  31. Ice Queen says:

The Belize Policemen will never be dignified enough to achieve respect for they do not give respect. What the government needs to STOP doing is placing ignorant people on the force who are obviously suffering from Napoleonitis (Physically small people who craves power)!!!!
Policemen needs to be as competent & prudent as people in the corporate/business world. In other words EDUCATED! Perhaps then the Department would see a little head way!

  32. yvette lovell says:

from yvette and trent with lots of love teddy ours hearts and prays are with your family we serve a wanderful God he will take care of the one that took you life R.I.P we love you

  33. Mellow Belizean says:

    RE: Ceecee!’s post:
Normally I agree with waiting before rushing to judgment but even the Police Commissioner admits that the “officer in the vicinity” had a mask and his supervisor took it away. As to the body being there for two hours, if the police knew one of their own was involved in a killing (again), wouldn’t it make sense that they’d drag their feet in responding? If you arrive too quickly you’ll see things you don’t want to have to deal with, like that supervisor who had to grab the mask.

I agree that there are honest hardworking police officers who don’t get the recognition they deserve, but Chris Galvez’ murder (and the continued threatening of his aunt) prove that there are obviously some bad eggs too.

  34. Bobby says:

Wat can i say ppl?? Crime raising high high in Belize. And like not to say to bring up old new but put it this way ever since our fam business close down on the south side alot of crime and things raise!! Do u guys think its the GOV?? Be real here with me WHO ever went to Archie’s and ever gets disrespected my the Lee Fam?? But such is life we have been operating our business for the past 20 or more years and as soon as GOV change everything in Bze change!! THIS GOTTA STOP NOW!! Whats the sense we as Belizeans kill each other??

  35. Drew says:

knew his brother David 2 b very warm and humble… never really met Teddy but my heart and prays goes out to the family. Having recently lost a sister i know how important it is to hear words of comfort and see faces of friends. Stay strong… God is love and justice!

  36. Dye says:

First of all i want to address MACAL! He needs to think before he talks, SERIOUSLY!!!!!! Im an Adventist Youth and i can tell you that as adevntist youths we always have social, and youth groups which lasts up to midnight…and may i tell u that we are doing good things…singing, playing instruments, and thanking God for everything he had done for us. What you need to do is, get ur facts straight before u go on saying stupid comments!!! Teddy had just left from youth group, and it’s normal for adventist youths to hang out at park to talk and stuff…We all feel this emptyness inside of us..Teddy is irreplaceable. I pray that the POLICE responsible for this cruelty being done to Teddy by PUNISHED SEVERLY!!!! I’m not stero-typing all the Police out there..but as a famous quote states” The Good suffer for the Bad”, meaning that the good police are not recognized, because of the stupidness the bad police do..We will stand as belize and as Adventist Members to stop the crime in our country and to get Justice for our loving Teddy. I know the Murillo Family very good and we r really close. Teddy was the most loving person who kept smiles on everyone’s face…We will TRUELY miss ted very much!!! But he will never be forgotten! I love u very much Ted! See u wen Jesus Comes!♥

  37. RJ says:

Leaving those you love behind might be difficult enough because you know, but wen their left behind with no indications, no goodbye’s…it becomes seemingly more difficult!! When the news was brought to me, time seemed to have lost its place!!! I stood still. There are no words that express the unexpressable emotions that the family’s going through. My heart yearns to see his smile, to hear his voice, but all that might be heard is the fading cry of those who yearn for the same!! To hear the ilhearted comments of uncompassionately inhumane nincompoops, only reassures the certainty of their end!!!
To all of you who knew Ted, you know who he is. I say “is” because he’s more than alive in our hearts. And like his life, he’s gonna continue to burst out with joy, smiles, and memories!!! Don’t let the inconsiderate comments of those that, i wouldnt be surprised, have cold hearts, might say!! As he was studying to be a farmer… a sower of good seeds… may we also learn from him. Learn how to be smiling even when there might not be a reason… laugh even when there’s no one to laugh with.. and keep holding on to hope of being with Jesus in heaven, even when others criticize, and misconstrude facts!!
Ted.. Teddy Bear… Bruk Shut…. Sweets…. mi corazon… we will miss you! And though you can’t hear us, though you can’t see the pain that your lost has brought us…. WE LOVE YOU OG!!! We’ll meet again in heaven…. that I’m sure of!!!!! !!@Nuf luv@!!!

  38. Born Belizean says:

My opinion is not one of hate or disrespect for the police department, but one of reality. It is my profound belief that the BELIZE POLICE is operating as a “Hit Squad” within the system of policing. For a few dollars more or for self -interest they kill who they want, arrest who they want(if you are political connected you are safe),absuse who they want and offcourse skake down the undefended. They operate under the shadow of darkness and unprofessionality in our communities. There ultimate bosses are the drug Lords and High profile Politicians.Basically in essence ,they see it as “if the Politians and King Pins can do no wrong, well they themself can do no wrong. In ada words”never see come see”.I am totally in agreement with the accurate veiws and opinions that the people have stated before me.We must get out the corrupt and muderers within the police department ,but we must start by replacing the so failed Minister Perdomo ! “Yes Carlos we are calling for your head, bcas you failed the people, with your plan”.
If we effectively achieve this we need to create a department that monitors the police deparment my brothers and sisters…bcas better must come, we are demanding this for the people and for the children of our nation

  39. Teresita (Ashley Marin says:

I am truely sorry to learn about the senseless shooting that took the life of my young cousin. I know that we will never get over Teddy’s Murder, and we will never forget. Neither will the person who killed him in cold blood. He will live with this guilt forever. I am deeply touched by the out pure of love, support and care which surrounds my Belizian family during this time of need. It is wonderfull to see how people could come together and how ones faith can carrie them through the toughest of time. I know that God is carrying my family through this trying time. This is a true test of faith and the murderer will not prosper. His entire world will fall apart just like Jesus betrayer. Keep the faith strong
my family and know that my thoughts are with you all.

Love to all that know the family
    and see the truth

  40. Alvira Clark says:

SOUNDS LIKE BELIZE WANTS A RUSSIAN KBG OR A US CIA/NIC, OR A US KKK. A “BLACK MASK” ORGINATION IN BELIZE WITHOUT ANY REAL CONTROL WILL BECOME AN EASY OUT FOR ANYONE WITH A BADGE TO PRETEND IT IS THEIR JOB TO BECOME A SELF APPOINTED “BLACK MASK COWBOY.” USED TO BE POINTED HEAD WHITE SHEETS, NOW BLACK MASK? IT HAPPENS THE WORLD OVER, ONLY REASONABLY HONEST GOVERMENTS CAN CONTROL THE END RESULTS.

  41. Ja cunno says:

It will be easy now for people to say police are going around killing people. This mean now the real killer will always be hiding behind these enticing slander. They will rejoice more since indirectly it is saying do not report crime it a part of our community and we must accept there will be no help from law enforcement. My humble belizean be careful of the gossip somtime it has a purpose!

  42. ggp says:

we might be nearing a military dictatorship, spearheaded by the secret police (police department), and backed by this visionless government!!Belizeans we have to fight now!Let fear not roam the land.Let justice be achieved!Power to the People!!!

  43. vels says:

it is very sad , very sad, i didn’t know this guy , but every time i heard stories like this? it breaks my heart, its, not easy to lost a love one, it does’t matter what color, raise or religion, we are all human, and have feelings, but they are ones without feelings at all, i guess its the DEMONS!!!!!!!!!! they have in their heart.

the human rights is just encouraging people do bad stuff, we need to stop!!!!!!!!, the GOB needs to do somthing about this, i know that it won’t be as blink of an eye, but something have to be done.

may god gave this familily and others strength and faith that justice will be done.

  44. Elgin says:

I do believe that our court system has a part to play with the escalation of crime because it’s like they’re telling these clungs kill the person or persons who witnessed the crime and you’re going to get off.Come on my Belizean people, how can’t you all see that this is what’s happening.

  45. Elgin says:

You’re better off killing someone in Belize than being a witness to a crime. The murderer has more protection than the witness.

  46. Elgin says:

    The system is a joke.

  47. Elgin says:

We the Belizea people needs to come together to stop all these crimes.

  48. Dracula is God says:

I must say that we always blame the police for all kinds of things,
    corruption, murderers
You know what since the police department is disfunctional then the Prime Minister should just
fire all the police and let we run ourselves then we will see what you
    ALL will think then
so dont put down the BPD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  49. New York says:

Ceecee, I think you have it back words, everything I said was intelligent except for the poor choice of words (word on the street). Excuse my poor choice of words….but when someone just gun down your family member in cold blood the anger, hurt, and frustration may pour over into your words. Nevertheless, the information that is getting back to me is coming from a reliable source that knows this policeman well. Therefore, it may not get the policeman convicted but at lease the people of Belize will know this policeman have NO REMORSE for taking the life of Teddy and so many others. That is the message I want to send to my people.

People are afraid to tell the police what they saw, after all it is a police that killed Teddy and Belizean people have no protection. The policeman that did this believe he has already gotten away with it and freely speaks about it among his peers. However, he fails to realize not all his peers has his back on this one.

Those of us that love Teddy will not rest until justice is serve and even then we can not have our Teddy back….Teddy I love you and miss you!

To All that this may apply to:

“An unjust law is no law at all”

I am a law enforcment officer, have been for eight years now. Before I took the oath to protect and serve I went through eight weeks of training, physical mental and psyhcological test. One of the first laws that governs law enforcement and police officers is: A police officer is justified in using DPF= Deadly Physical Force ONLY when their life or another persons life is in immediate danger. Law enforcement officers are public servants they swarn to take an oath to protect and serve the citizens of their communities and make the people feel safe. The people of Belize do not feel protected or safe, in fact the people fear the police officers in Belize nevertheless they are also outraged, tired and disgusted and are desperately seeking change. That was proven on Sunday March 7th, 2010 when an estimatied 600 plus citizens of Belize attended Teddy Murillo Jr. funeral service.

In the case of Teddy Murillo Jr. he was shot 5 times in his lower back and head, Teddy was unarmed and left in a pool of his own blood to die. Two hours later his body was found in a drain. In the case of Teddy Murillo Jr. 21 year old deacon of Mt. Zion Seven days adventist church he posed no immediate danger or threat to law enforcement officers.

St. Augustine said “An unjust law is no law at all” In other words an unjust law would be a law that takes away ones freedom, or causes harm, install fear or basically causes chaos. which is the exact opposite of what a law is put in place to do. St. Augustine says “An unjust law is no law at all; one has the right, a duty, even a moral obligation to disobey an unjust law”
