Los Lagos gas station targeted by thieves just after midday
A grocery store in Los Lagos was robbed after midday this afternoon. Four men wearing masks, one of whom had a gun, stormed into the Holiday Grocery store and held up the owners. They took cash, phone cards, alcoholic beverages and DVD’s. The men then drove from Los Lagos towards Belize City. They almost got away with the crime but because of the length of time it took them to drive back in town, the authorities were already informed and looking for them. Police stopped the getaway car at mile four and a half on the Northern Highway across from Duke Marine Company. The officers cuffed two of the men and had them sit on the roadside while they conducted a search and questioned the other two inside the car where they found the masks and stolen items. On one of the men, they found the gun believed to be used during the robbery. The shopkeepers were taken to the police station to identify the recovered items.

What needs to be done is change the law when it comes to persons who commit crimes using firearm and a vehicle. The same way the police take away the guns, apply the same to the vehicle used in the crime.
Drummy,
I full agree with you.Kudos to those officers who continue to work hard despite the public flogging the Police Department have been getting.
these people have made a career out of crime. it won’t stop right now unless they personally choose to stop. A small store like the one at los lagos simply means they took the time out to monitor and watch. its the reason i hate going to a small shop. i prefer to just shop at the bigger stores.
