Glen Smith was murdered and left in shallow grave

Glen Smith
Two and a half months after he went missing, a Hattieville family is finally bringing closure to his disappearance. Shortly after Glenn Smith vanished in December, the family found his slippers and suspected that he may have been killed. That appears to now be the case, as the tell tale signs were seen on his body when it was unearthed from a shallow grave on the Western Highway on Tuesday. News Five’s Jose Sanchez found the family grieving but comforted because they can finally put him to rest.

“When I went there I saw his face. His face was disfigured. It was a body; the only difference was that his face was disfigured. He had a chop across his face. All his teeth was missing. His face was totally in a bad condition. Anyhow, we can recognize our brother body. So when they do everything—I wasn’t there when the policeman and the forensic officer was there; I got there after they left. The way I saw it, he wasn’t there from a long time ago. Ih look like they had him somewhere tortured and then they realized they couldn’t do anything else so better they finish with him. The hole that my brother was in wasn’t really a deep hole. It was a shallow hole like something that you would just sit in your yard and dig. It look like his body had some burns; it looked like they wanted to burn him but they didn’t finish their job. They wrapped him up in a curtain. They wrapped him in a curtain so it seems as though it’s something that happened at a home. They didn’t do it at where we found him at the range. They did it at a home then they finished him where they buried him.”
When Delsie Smith visited News five in January to plead to the public for information about her brother’s whereabouts, she said she felt he was dead and only wanted to know what happened to him.

“Does this put some closure?”

“Yes it does. I’m very happy. My tears that I am bringing is for happiness and joy. Some people cry two years, can’t find their family; I’m happy that I found my bredda. I’m not satisfied about the way he is because then two months and eleven days my bredda missing and that body just put there. We know, we se the fresh sand that digged up. We did our own investigation this morning when the police leave us and we could see everything that we wanted to know but whose to answer our question? Nobody.”
Less than twenty-four hours after his body was dug up, his family and friends dug a fresh grave for his funeral service.

“That was my second to my last baby brother. I never know him as no violent person, no bad person or whatever person. I know him as a loving person, give us jokes, dress up in skirt and dance and stuff. So I don’t know why somebody would want to brutally kill him like that. They actually chop up my brother, burn my brother, do him a lot of thing. I really would ah want know—the amount of people out here today I can’t believe that he has somebody that hates him. I think he was a loving person, everyone talks good about him. So I want know who he did bad to?”
Glen Smith was uncovered in a shallow grave by the police on Tuesday evening and laid to rest by his family on Wednesday morning. Reporting for News Five, Jose Sanchez.
Glen Smith was laid to rest today in Hattieville.

Did the investigators/police took any molds of foot prints from around the grave site, did any of those investigators/police preserve the site for any kind of evidence to help bring mr Smith killer/s to justice?
Or is the case now close because the body was finally found?
These crimes that are being committed are very brutal. How do these criminals sleep at night? Do they have no soul? I pray that while our law force and judicial system continuously fail us that God’s watchful eyes are upon these people reaping havoc on earth and that HIS justice comes swiftly for them before these criminals continue to cause hurt to others.

i believe this investigaros we have in belize don’t even know about those things. or maybe have only watch it on movies. i’ve met one a police in cayo who can’t even write a statment report i had to spell him the words while he write so imagine having some iliterate in the law no wonder the statments never come out correct.
i feel really sorry for that family, that it took them 2 months to know the truth. unfortunately the family might never know what happened unless someone talks. getting murdered in Belize is one of the worst things that can happen, due to the fact that anyone can get way with it.
ooohhh
Since there isn’t a single country in the world that is exempt from killings, and rape, I have to say that
People of Belize, especially women who are caretakers by nature need to get off their asses to help make some improvements in their society, in the hospitals, the schools, and the police department, and The list doesn’t stop there.
This is not a female cause but a cause that relates to all Belizeans.
When you speak out against the wrongs the government, the police, the press and the criminals, when you do this you are demonstrating that violence and injustice are no longer acceptable in your society, you are publicly condemning the criminal rights, and their act of behavior. Start by questioning the governments concerned about their actions to combat the violence in your society, and then encouraging them to change their legislation.
It’s true u can kill anyone an get away wit ti in Belize. Our police force is a joke,ha ha sh good for noting policemen. Who knows maybe they was the same one who did it crocked a.. cops.
Miss My Uncle Sooo Much! continue to sleep on, we love you and miss you every day!!!
