Accused rapist caught after a year on the lam

Twenty-three year old Victor Bah Jr., a resident of San Antonio Village, Toledo District who has been on the run for the past nine months after being accused of raping a nineteen year old resident of the area, is tonight behind bars.  Bah was accused of committing the crime on June nineteenth, 2009 and when he appeared unrepresented in court today prosecutor Cardinal Smith objected to bail due to the prevalence of the crime and the fact that for almost a year he managed to elude the police.  At the arraignment Magistrate Roberto Ordonez upheld Smith’s objection to bail and remanded Bah into custody at the Hattieville Prison until March eighteenth when bail will be considered on his behalf.  Punta Gorda police detained Victor Bah Jr., on Saturday, March sixth in the vicinity of the town.
