Doctor John Gough charged with Wounding

Back on February fifteenth, a sixth form student, Carlos Zelaya Junior reported to the police that he had been badly beaten by Dr. John Gough, a prominent cardiologist, and Egbert Nicholson, a sales clerk. We broke that story on February, twenty-fourth and the pictures of Zelaya’s injuries received wide circulation in this newscast and on the internet. Well, today Gough and Nicholson were finally arraigned and appeared before Magistrate Sharon Frazer this morning on one single count of Wounding for the alleged beating of the sixteen year old student. Gough and Nicholson were represented by Senior Counsel Ellis Arnold. They both pleaded not guilty and they were offered and met bail in the sum of one thousand dollars and a surety in the same amount. Zelaya reported to the police that he was beaten by both men in the Buttonwood Bay area. He had just left Gough’s house when he was brutally assaulted. Zelaya claims to have been dating Gough’s daughter for the past two years and his family expressed outrage at his beating. Gough will next appear in court on April twenty-first.
i think that the said doctor gough should be charged more for causing such life treathening injuries to the teen. what ” if ” he should have suffered a head injury to the point of brain trauma. but bet he’ll getway from this easily like a slimmy snake from all this accusations for being the so called ” elites of our city ” . just watch the verdict and you’ll all prove me right.
There seem to be no respectable people left in power in belize, from the police to the doctors to the criminals on the streets of belize all the same.
Dr. John Gough will get off easy even though the coward brutally assaulted someone, he need a reality check.
who wants to wager on dr gough keeping his license, respectability and pride? come on any takers? typical of people with money, they somehow think they are invincible and will die with their money….depressing everytime!
That what happens when people begin to believe they are above they law because their government is now in administration. The student should sue him for damages and secure a restraining order against the mad sceintist (oopps doctor). I wonder what the medical association has to say about that kind of behavior from one of their own?
I am happy it wasn’t my son because if it was my child i would be the one sitting behind bars,Belize will never be the same anymore.
If he is not guilty then who did it? Lawyers are to blamed for a lot of whats happening in this country…money maks them evil…Why else would a Lawyer chooose to defend some one like that? As i understand this child was in a car accidentabout 2 years ago and had injuries to his head…and now agian more hits to the head!!!!!!! Dr. Gough may have compounded his health!!
