Hospitals in the north recognised as Mother & Baby friendly
The good news out of the Ministry of Health is that in collaboration with UNICEF, PAHO and the N.C.F.C., two hospitals in the north are getting the distinction as Mother and Baby Friendly Hospitals. Both the Corozal Community Hospital and the Northern Regional Hospital today received the international recognition for taking steps in implementing measures for successful breastfeeding. Back in 1995, a breast feeding policy was approved which put in place the framework for the promotion, protection and support for breastfeeding. The only other hospital to have the distinction is the K.H.M.H.
