Hog head in Castro’s office; attorney says “it wasn’t me”
Someone played a nasty joke on Belize Rural North Area Representative Edmund Castro when they broke into his office in Sandhill on Monday morning and placed a freshly slaughtered hog’s head on his secretary’s desk. While the prank may have been on the minister he did not find it very funny and in an interview with the media on Monday he implied who may have been involved. Attorney Arthur Saldivar spoke with News Five today clearing his name of any involvement in the incident saying that it was all a smokescreen to distract Belizeans from the issues at hand. Castro told the media it was political.
Arthur Saldivar, Attorney at Law
“To reduce the people’s business to such frivolous drivel is childish at best. I would never engage myself in that kind of practice. I cannot say the same for the Honorable Castro or the area rep. I believe the entire thing is a distraction and certainly no person from Rural North who knows me would ever believe that I would have anything to do with that and I pride myself on the fact that whenever I deal with issues that’s all I deal with. I don’t engage in personalities, that is not the business of the people. We understand that there was a budget presentation on Monday and that budget presentation was supposed to outline how this present government was going to bridge a sixty million dollar gap that they had in their projections. Now for all intent and purposes the easy solution was what they opted to, taxing the people so nobody wants to hear about higher taxes; let’s distract them with this nonsense. I don’t think it worked and I hope that the Belizean people can see through that smokescreen.”
According to Saldivar while he has been a caller to morning talk shows to address certain issues he is not the quote “serial caller’’ unquote that is reportedly dragging Castro’s name through the mud. He said, like any Belizean, he has exercised his right to contribute constructively to the development of the people by sharing his views.

maybe what arthur saldivar can do is convince his friends of the previous administration to return some of the peoples’ money so that this administration may ease taxpayers now and for the next 25 yrs. how about that turo boy??……..
