Two persons charged for murder of Glenford Matura

Two persons have been charged in connection with the cold blooded murder of twenty-nine year old Glenford Matura. Matura was murdered at about seven o’clock on the morning of March tenth at the corner of Dean Street and Euphrates Avenue where we was working cleaning the streets.  He was shot four times, once to the left temple, twice to the right buttocks, and once to the right hand. He ran into a nearby alley and managed to jump a fence but collapsed. A neighbor transferred him to the hospital where he succumbed to the gunshot injuries about one hour and a half later. An eye witness identified the triggerman as twenty-five year old Lionel Neal, of West Street, who was arraigned for Murder this morning. A second suspect who is believed to have acted together with Neal has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder. He is eighteen year Michael Kerr of Rockview Village. The two were picked from an identification parade. Magistrate Aretha Ford remanded them until May sixth. Previous to his shooting, Matura was at the wake of Elmore Neal, who was also gunned down days prior to the Matura murder.
