Pedro Cal acquitted of murder charges

Pedro Cal

Pedro Cal

The murder trial of Pedro Cal fell apart today in the Supreme Court when crucial witnesses could not be located. A jury of five women and seven men had already heard one testimony but Prosecutor Yohhanseh Cave threw in the towel when the father of the murder victim, Dison Diaz, and two other witnesses failed to appear to give testimony. Cave entered a nolle pros and Justice Troadio Gonzalez explained to Cal that while he is freed of the charge, the Director of Public Prosecution’s office can order his arrest in the future if the witnesses are found. Cal wasted no time and ran out of the Supreme Court a free man. Ricky Perrera testified earlier in the trial that on February 3, 2007, he saw Cal stab Diaz with a chisel following an argument between the two men. He said Diaz ran but did not get far and fell to the ground and was rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic where he later died.  Cal was represented by attorney, Lionel Welch.

what kind of justice system we have?that only encourages young people to kill and walk free even if there are witnesses.

  6. Jaron says:

justice only takes one person to see the truth and that happened. he should be in jail.

  7. Jaron says:

Justice needs to be served! It only takes one person to help have justice served to those who deserve it!

  8. Norris Smith says:

The minister don’t want creol on the island, Cal is o.k. to stay even after committing a murder, he don’t look like a creol (Black).

Listen Belizeans, these “Witnesses” are scared for their lives because many times witnesses are killed and we Belizean-Americans in The States do not hear about it. I have a close friend
whose brother was executed a few years ago in Belize; the witness got scared and fled to the United States for a short time. Unable to live with the fact that he saw what happened and also that he knew the victim’s mother, he decided to return to Belize as the witness for that family. He was then killed before the trial and is now pushing up daisies at the lords Ridge Cemetery in Belize. So, as you can see it is not wise to be a witness for anyone unless it is a family member.
What Belize needs to do is bring back the death penalty by hanging (We need another individual like “RAINY DAY” to hang these B…….! And these mothers that are covering up and swaring for their out of order children needs to be held responsible especially if their child is a minor and has committed a crime. Enough is enough Belize! I am disgusted your justice system!

hell with all of you guys. if you were there you wouldnt be saying this stuff. everyone has a right to live. just like you! everyone has temper and if you have ever experience when hell break loose in your head and the devil possess in you? this is what you would also do. Only God knows why he walked away. dont be the judge, cause the judge already decided and he let it go. so!!!. you can’t do nothing about it. what i can agree with you guys is that if it was someone that has kill more than two people and had walked away. then yes that guy must be sent to jail for life. but if you have heard the news this guys was in trail for nearly 4 years. imagine what is four years in prison. i assume that you guys are afriad to stay in your same bedroom for an entire day.lol. so think then talk and just dont judge……………………!!!!!!!!!!!!!
