Cotton Tree Village Chairman says they have land problems also
But Cotton Tree Village has another land problem its residents are battling. Chairman Florentino Baeza and one of the villagers visited our studios to complain about the issue. They are upset with the Ministry of Natural Resources for implementing a whole new process after their Area Representative, Ramon Witz, gave them approval to proceed with a survey of the fourteen point nine acres which is located further away from the thirteen hundred acres held by the Taiwanese nationals. Chairman Baeza says a number of persons had paid for the land to be surveyed, only to discover that the rules had changed and another person has been put in charge of the plot. And he has his own list of applicants who want to own the land.

“I noh pleased with it because once the land done survey a first time…the Chairman do the procedure.”
Florentino Baeza, Chairman, Cotton Tree Village
“We had a parcel of land in Cotton Tree Village that was 14.9 acres that was for one Hernandez. The PUP had cancelled that land. I went to Mr Ramon Witz to subdivide the land. He said yes Mr Baeza, and that is no that paper right now that I give you there. He put his signature, he said he don’t see no problem why to do so. After I got the land surveyed, government does not provide survey so we get it surveyed, he, Ramon Witz gave me the permission. This was 2008. When we went to Ramon Witz, the people went to ah dehn seh he noh di sign no paper, nothing for us. Mr Gaspar Vega seh he noh di sign none neither if Ramon Witz does not sign”
