Czech National claims the cops stole thousands from him

It was not reported on the official police release, but last week Thursday, while the department was dealing with rogue cops who masterminded a botched robbery on Chon Saan Palace, there was another incident which implicated at least two police officers. The alleged incident occurred in Vista Del Mar at the home of a Czechoslovakian national. According to reports, officers came to conduct a search at his home, and they left with fifteen thousand U.S. dollars that belonged to him. News Five spoke to the police press officer who said that the department is investigating the claims by the Czech national.

“That allegation has been made and it is still under investigation by the Internal Affairs Department so I can’t really give you much on that, but pending the outcome of that investigation we would be able to brief the public as to whether or not the allegation was true or it was falsified.”

“While this investigation is ongoing have you detained any officers, questioned them or relieved them of duty?”

“We have questioned several officers but nobody has been interdicted for that incident or relieved from their duty.”
How long is this going to go on? It made a US paper in chicago stating that this is a weekly occurance in belize warning not to go. Damn police, when is the government going to put serious penalty on officers for these things so it is not worth the chance. Most of em think its worth the chance because if they get caught it is no big deal cause our country dont do nothing.
This is no new news, the police department history partly consist of theft, among other things.
It is a shame though when the foreigners claimed to be rob by the police in that country, the female police officers are stealing, the male police officers are stealing, sometimes right off the body of a person.
This man will never get his money back, and not too many Czech nationals will visit Belize.
Belize has become a lawless country, like the wild, wild, west used to be years ago in the U.S. How long will Belize put up with trying to be like america. It’s not working there what makes you think it will work in Belize.

It seems that if you live in Belize these days you have no choice but to become a UDP or a PUP fanatic. Only two mayor parties in Belize, so if you are not one then you are other.
When something happen in that country half the people blame the PUP, or the other blame the UDP, everyone seem somewhat lost, no one is really doing anything for themselves.
Today, Everyone in Belize tends to dabble a bit in politics, and I can appreciate that the people want to know what is going on in their country, but let’s go back to that time when we didn’t trust those in power
And they had to really work to screw us over, rather than just having us roll over whenever they asked for it.
Let’s accept the fact that the PUP and the UDP legacy is Belize failure today.
Lady S, if you have any real information that you feel your people and country can benefit from, then it is your duty as a Belizean to do something with that information instead of blaming the government for the crooked cops in the police department.
