Do you have confidence in the work of the police department?
When we recessed for the Easter holidays on Thursday we asked the question: Do you believe hanging should be brought back? On our e-poll, over six hundred persons participated and eighty-six percent supported the notion of bringing back hanging. On our IMS, our viewers thought hanging should be enforced. One said that hanging needs to be brought back because the murderers will get the sense that we are serious and tired of these senseless crimes while another said absolutely yes since too many innocent lives are lost while criminals are caught and then released.

yes hangin should be brough back i think the last man to be hang was my school mate bowers but it dnt matter cos u got to convict someone frist which belize cant do so all the talk off hangin is useless un less u change ur the court system an get some real prosecutor instead of theses clown u pay so much money to do nothing the lady now is useless in fact wat has she really done in bze but collect our money an live gud we need out side police to secure our city like when the limey was here bac in the days bring in outside help not jus outside judges an prosecutor we need outside polices
i” DO NOT” have confidence the in the police work in belize at all…..most of the police belize hired are corrupt cops…applying for the job for the “WRONG” reasons. the sole purpose of a police officer is to server and protect the community. But yet they do the opposite with conspirarcy and brutality…the have no regards for the belize people they serve….most of them want the job for authority not to do the job…..poor belize….we need some changes…better must come….better only can come from firing all the corrupt cops.

WHY DO THE LOCAL POLICE THINK IT’S OK TO COMMIT CRIMES IN THEIR OWN AREAS? DO THEY EXPECT THEIR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS PLUS GOVERNMENT TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY AND CONDONE WHAT IT IS HAPPENING? WHY? THEY BECAME CRIMINALS FOR SOME REASON. DO THEY THINK THEY ARE ENTITLED TO STEAL AND TAKE WHAT THEY WANT?
ENTITLEMENT IS A VERY DANGEROUS WAY OF LIFE, THERE IS A TOTAL LACK OF UNDERSTANDING FROM THE PERSONS COMMITTING THE CRIMES.
what i would really like to see is if you guys on open your eyes can bring in the show the reps. of human right and to ask them what do they think about the crime rate in Belize. since the crime rate has escalated like crazy we’ve haven’t heard nothing from them. They know we are tired of thier bulls@#4564 about what they talk about human rights. If hanging comes out to be real you’ll see them sticking thier stupid noses on the case. bring them in the show and see what they have to tell the nation.

A revamp of the police department needs to be implemented… that should include the firing of all the head officers. The problem is that Broaster and Lee got the PM on their toes and scared for their lives.

There is a lack of confidence in the Police Force because there is a constant effort to make excuses for things not happening, rather than a serious discussion of policy changes/implementation to ensure that the law is followed to the letter. Just take time to listen to the Commish when he gets on the media. Statistics? And he is slated to be an expert? Lert him d4eclare these stats: How many successful prosecutions of cops has taken place unsder his watch? How many complaints have been placed on officers under his watch? What kind of investigations have taken place? Who are doing the investigations? And that is just a beginning to get the ball rolling!

Guys Guys Guys, yes there are indeed good policemen in the force, I agree that there are times when we doubt, but at the end of the day like in every department there are some rotten stinking eggs and there are good ones, so instead let us join in prayer asking the good Lord to change these people hearts and not only in the police department but on the entire country of Belize, we need start being obidient to Jesus last command, love one another and love your God with all your heart, mine and soul.ONLY then we will see a change in our beloved Land God gaves us.
How can anyone even contemplate bringing back hanging when the Police force constantly shows itself to be corrupt and inept.
Personally I do not want the blood of a single innocent person on my hands should they be ‘set up’ by the police to take the rap for something that may well have been a Police sponsored crime in the first place.
Time and time again, capital punishment has been proven to be totally ineffective. Read any book on criminality… a criminal goes about his business with a total belief in his mind that he won’t be caught. The punishment doesn’t even figure in his warped little brain. Only when he realises that he will be caught, will he stop his enterprise. The trouble is if you have the death penalty, the criminal upon realising he will be caught often becomes extremely violent in an effort to escape punishment, and innocent people are often caught in the crossfire. Police also become more violent to counter this response from the crims.
Most civilised and decent countries in the world have realised that the death penalty just doesn’t work, and have abolished it.
What Belize needs is an effective and honest Police force, not ever more cruel and inhuman punishment. Unfortunately we have a Police Farce, not an effective crime fighting team working with the people for the people.
Oh here we go with Jesus and some”bright” individual that thinks Jesus will save us. Take your a…outside and try and preach to these guys and see if Jesus will protect you when they kick your A$$.
