Three youths injured in late evening shooting

Three youths, including a primary school student, are receiving treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after they were shot around six this evening near Rocky Road in Belize City.  Sketchy details to our newsroom are that a lone gunman on a bicycle rode past an alley off Rocky Road and opened fire.  Witnesses say there were about ten shots that rang out and afterwards, three teens were injured.  It is not yet certain if any of the injuries are life-threatening.  News Five will have more details on this story in Friday’s newscast.

  1. Better Belize says:

BELIZE NEED TO ALLOW CLEAN RECORD CITIZENS TO BE ABLE TO HAVE GUNS AND ACT AS POLICE UNTIL THE UNIFORMED POLICE ARRIVE AT THE SCENE…

For instance, I am sure that there were people saw this young man open fired…they citizens with gun on the area could have acted as police officers and prevented the guy from escaping until actual police could have reached to transfer the guy to the station….and citizens police could shoot if the guy opened fire…

It is just an idea….any other ideas to stop crime???

Cleam/Death Squat from crime victims?? It looks thats the last alternatives because the government is not doing anything

It was just another cozy evening in Belize.
Why oh why are the people still refusing to take responsibilities for their own live?
Everyone knows by now that it is dangerous to hang out in any alleys, or street corners in the dark.
No, one has the right to shoot anyone, but hell, that is the way it is right now in Belize,
Freedom or your life, make your own choice.
