The Police Department is facing a backlash over recent allegations that some rogue cops are involved in criminal activity. There are now differing statements from within that have people on edge. ummmm??? corruption comes from a state of mind….if nothing is being done to conduct a police officer behavior? then hell yeah the officer will do what they want to do….officer’s and criminal go hand in hand because they both know if they could get away with it they will continue to do what they want to do as they please….thats the reason why cops and criminals are enemy they both are going for the same thing….to corrupt society with their devious acts.
The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will loose.
I agree,the police oficers are watching our government officials doing it so if they can do it why can’t I do it too ! thats their mentality,gov,t needs to first work in their dep’t and then move to other levels,it will be a hard job.If we see a corrupt police or gov’t official we need to tape them or video them and put it in national television.
Also not only the police officers are corrupt,the CUSTOMS DEPT ARE GETTING WORST,there is so much corruption under the customs dep’t,there needs to have a video camera at the border we will see all the family,friends,customs officials crossing contraband goods at the border point,they take away the goods the poor people are buying in chetumal and they keep it for themselves, and thats the truth.Reports are that there is a customs officer in Orange Walk,that left a 16 years old girl from Santa Cruz{Orange walk dist} pregnant and that all the goods that he takes away from the poor people he gives it to the girl’s family and that the girl’s father is alowwed to cross as many contraband goods he wish,I thing the authorities should investigate all these rumors ! but what can we expect there are some people that are afraid to speak,or they can get shot by the officers and then they would claim it was in self defence.I bet that NOT all the contraband goods that they take away from the people are taken to their customs “bodega”,maybe 25% and the rest is taken to their homes of family members, GO and chek any customs officer and open their fridge and u will see any kind of mexican beers/ vegetables,u name it ! the poor people are stretching there dollars and the customs live from it.WE NEED TO STAND UP NOW.
Since we can’t find the rest of the “Rogue” cops, all of the rest should resign, and those that don’t we fire them. Then we hire a new force that will truly “Serve and Protect” Us. Volunteers start resigning please!
It is now plain to be seen that the Police Department is corrupted!! We have reached to the point were as police officers are killing each other because they too are involved in the crimes that are affecting Belize, And the reason for this is because the big people who should have the country best interest at heart are covering the criminals like (R>>>es) just for a little pocket money.. My question to the Prime minister And the minster of national security is this” How is it that the media and the enter nation, knows about he officers whom u suspect are in involved robbery of the bank and the attempt of Chon san ; and absolutely nothing is been said about the Reyes case? if any one should be sent up is him and we all know this.
Why is it if you bring things in from outside of Belize, and go through the northern border they direct you into a “SPECIAL” line where you pay duty, you get a receipt for the amount paid BUT….. there is no number on the receipt??? am asking who gets the money that has been paid?? there is no way to track how much or who received it. Is this why the customs workers drive nice cars? is this why they have nice clothes? is this why they have a nice house? or is it just the corrupt way they do business??
maybe its so they can compete with the customs agents inside the northern compound ( I have been advised in the past ” we can flip them a little” AND guess what if I would have done as advised my truck duty would have been 500.00 US$ cheaper…. they are in competition and we Belizians suffer. They need to set up a sting on them and they will see the government is loosing out on a LOT OF MONEY!!!!
As far back as the colonial days Belizeans colture got by to a great extent by whom you know. This will not change over night if at all given human nature. This talk about tranparancy is a joke; like the snake charmer that show the snake one object to focuss on while he manipulate the snake for the show. Ask anyone about custom officer Herbert Johnson who was also a Magistrate, Longsworth and Lord, on the surface these men seem to have done their job to the letter, but that was only a farce.

The nations of the world are gradually getting away from the business of custom duties. Belize should turn the country into one big freezone, from boarder to boarder Emagin the amount of jobs it will create as well as revenue.The demand for hotel would sky rocket If that sound like fantasie, go to Panama free zone. There should also be free zone banking in Belize, instead of been dictated to by Federal Reserve. We have to towe the line when these big banks fail that we have nothing to do with. There are trillions of dollars, yes trillions that would pass through Belize as a money transfer point and great revenue would be realize even by charging fraction of a point . But our government is scared of the banking cartel. There are banks that deal with the drudgs cartel and pretend to be against money laundering.Why is our government affraid to really open up the economy into a banking meca?
I heard that there is a 10 years economic planning been considered for Belize, in my opinion the Belize economy should be a full service oriented economy, free zone, banking, Insurance and supporting facility that enhance these industries. WAKE UP BELIZE.
Well Well they got to, like i said look at the little bit of shity money the GOB the pay people plus bills high. I would do d same thing, might even hacked a couple of them ministers too. So much worser criminals out who hanging in till d time is righttt.
This government is more about personal vendetta rather than looking at the professionalism of the individual. I think the C.J got a raw deal, his sin is that of making several rulings not favourable to this administration and for this he is being punished by practically being forced out. the P.M should explain to us why he is so adamant in not renewing the his contract, he cannot use age as a reason afterall he just appointed an Attorney General who is above the retirement age.
