Thieves burglarize home of attorney

Marcus Williams

Selvin Castillo
Two men accused of handling stolen goods belonging to an attorney at law are behind bars after he was denied bail. Twenty year old Selvin Castillo pleaded not guilty today in the Magistrate’s Court, but the prosecution objected to bail on grounds that Castillo is being investigated for other offences. Police say he had the stolen items worth over two thousand dollars when they apprehended him on Thursday. Police further allege that Castillo used suitcases belonging to the attorney, Darlene Margaret Vernon, to move the household items from her home. The next man charged, Marcus Williams, also twenty years old faces two counts of handling stolen goods for two rings which he pawned on separate occasions. Williams, who lives at the same address as Castillo, pleaded guilty but explained that it was Castillo, who asked him to pawn them out for him. Williams said he had no idea the items were stolen. His plea was not accepted but he too was denied bail. It was the news that he would be remanded that caused Williams’ mother to faint in court. Authorities inside the room rushed for alcohol to assist in reviving her and called 911. Both men will reappear in court on April nineteenth. The culprit gained entry to the house by damaging the back door to the upper flat of the house.

The Marcus Williams i know is a good boy, he would never willing participate in a robbery,or knowingly handle stolen goods, justice system…..please don’t let the good suffer because of the bad.
