Police find fourteen parcels of suspected cocaine
Caye Caulker police found a red ice box in an area north of the island at around nine on Sunday morning. But it was not cold beers inside, in fact what they found were fourteen parcels wrapped in brown masking tape and believed to be compressed cocaine. No one was at the site of the find, but the cocaine is now in the possession of the anti drug unit of the police department.
While the officers on the island made their discovery, police on mobile patrol on the Stann Creek Valley Road made an arrest for a similar offence. The cops saw when thirty-four year old Ian Chiu, a mechanic of Dangriga Town, exit a GMC Jimmy SUV which he parked at the junction of the valley road and the Southern Highway. Chiu reportedly threw a black plastic bag, which police retrieved and found it to be five point seven pounds cannabis. Chiu now faces charges of Drug Trafficking.

why police could not have waited to catch the drug trafficker or are they afraid of engaging in a gun battle??? officers should have semi-automatic riffles to provide better security…if you visit any municipality in Mexico, you will notice that police and security forces always have a gun and a riffle!!! Police officers should be trained to handle this kind of weapons….
totally agree with you! that is very true the police force should be very well equip.
But we need trustworthy and committed officers with that too.
well just hope this kind of things cease because it seems to be getting worse.
