Keith Nunez and Kimberly Ciego shot in separate incidents

In the city, shortly after the tragic shooting of Kashif Jeffries in the Port Loyola area on Saturday afternoon the sound of gunfire erupted once again, this time on the opposite side of Central American Boulevard.  Reports are that twenty-four year old Kimberly Ciego a resident of Jane Usher Boulevard was riding on a scooter along with twenty-six year old Ricky Valencia when upon reaching the intersection of Faber’s Road and Nurse Findley’s Crescent a tinted, dark green SUV bearing no license plates approached the duo.  A man reportedly alighted the vehicle and opened fire upon them.  Ciego was hit multiple times to the abdomen and legs. Valencia was fortunate enough to escape injuries and Belize City police are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, across town later that night another city resident was shot while standing in Rhaburn’s Alley.  At about nine thirty-five on Saturday night thirty-two year old Keith Nunez in the side street when he was accosted by a lone gunman who wore a blue rag over his face.  His attacker brandished what appeared to be a black nine millimeter pistol and pointed it at him.  Fearing for his life Nunez knocked his assailant’s hand away and ran towards New Road.  The man then fired several shots which caught Nunez in the lower abdomen, right big toe and left hand.  Police are also investigating that shooting.
