Passenger injured while fleeing chaos inside bus

busDuring the chaos, nineteen year old Lucia Carrillo jumped through the back door while the bus was still moving and she suffered a fractured skull.  She remains critically injured in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. News Five spoke with an eyewitness who was standing in front of a shop when the passenger leaped from the vehicle.  He told us off camera that he helped her to get medical attention.

“I see that the bus come speeding from over there and the gial drop over here and the bus continue and I hear lotta people di mek lotta noise and soh I pick up di gial and ker di gial dah hospital.  From deh I noh know weh happen wen I see dehn ker wah man and seh dat dah di man weh di look fi rob dehn.  Ih got gun.  Only dat I see, I lef everybody.”

“She jumped right? Nobody pushed her?”

“No she jump by ihself because sake ah ih see di man di come with di gun di same time soh she get frighten and ih jump.  Some other people mi come side ah she and I talk to dehn and dehn seh dat sake ah dat she jump through the back door and the bus still run fast because di gunman mi deh inside di try harass everybody with the gun.”

“Now you’re only nineteen years old and you had the presence of mind to have taken control of your bus and still keep your passengers calm.  How did you manage to do that?”

Ernesto Castillo Junior

“I’m not going to tell you any lie, I felt really frightened but I knew my life was in danger and most everyone else life was in danger as well so my feat was that right ahead there was a feeder road, so that was my fear that they would have directed me to go in there and that’s why I was accelerating to pass that point.  But then after I saw that they didn’t ask me to go then still nervous but I was a little bit more in control then.”

The bus company says it will keep the run because it is necessary for commuters of the area, but they will improve security on the bus.  Police have recovered both the conductor’s purse with all the stolen money and the items stolen from the passengers.

    poor thing, she was traumatized by those aliens bandits that is why she jump out, I pray she recover and get well soon, again I hate those aliens from over the border!!! Sorry but I can’t help it

    look here Macal, you don’t have to say that why do you refer to those people like and by the way you are no one to judge and what about belizean those nasty criminals never refer to people like that not ever one have to pay. Aren’t Belizean Criminals as well?

    mek I tell you something UNKNOWN, if you would spend just one week near the border and listen to what all this sacking aliens call we black people you would be so kind hearted to them, yes our Belizeans criminals should not only be called names, they should be hang by the neck alright, I am not a prejudice person, but sometimes this aliens look for we to call them that.OK ,how would you like me to referred them as, SWEETHEARTS, dammit unknown wake up form your slumber sleep
