Woman fined $10,000 for smuggling weed into prison

Andrea Jenkins
After spending five days behind bars, a twenty-seven year old mother of four, Andrea Jenkins, was today spared from returning to the Hattieville Prison for Drug Trafficking. At the close of trial, a mitigation plea was made on Jenkins’ behalf by her attorney, Arthur Saldivar, who said that while Jenkins made a mistake, she deserves a second chance and as a single mother the responsibility of taking care of her children was on her. Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer told Jenkins that she hoped her days behind bars were a lesson learnt and then imposed a non-custodial sentence fining Jenkins ten thousand dollars to be paid by June thirtieth. On April eighth, Jenkins who had gone to visit her boyfriend at the Hattieville Prison was busted with marijuana she was attempting to smuggle into the prison. In the routine check by a prisoner officer, the weed was found in a black plastic bag attached to her underwear.

shameful mom, hope you learn, next time jail with no bail please.
And she has kids! What a d…..!!!
This is not the type of mother you want to send home to take care of her kids, what a terrible, terrible mother this woman is.
No doubt her kids will turn out to be just like her, sending her to jail might help save those kids.
well you wanted to take weed for your man?now you join him,no man ain’t worth it stupid, and to see your a mom, children come before man.
hopefully it is a lesson learnt…otherwise, she’ll just end up right back there. feel you way mamma!
I do not in anyway condone what this lady did,However it’s rediculos to charge someone so much for drugs .When you’ve got a cop who have comitted murder walking freely in the streets.
I agree with Martinez thats a ridulous fine everyone deserve a second chance in life and we all make mistake am not condoning what she did but sometimes Love make you do stupid things
