Primary school students record intimacy on school grounds
An alarming video is in circulation via cell phone. It contains explicit and graphic images of two primary school children engaged in sexual acts. The images would shock even mature audiences and will obviously not be shown on this station. It is disturbing because the incident happened in broad daylight and the two minors were dressed in their school uniform and believed to be in a school compound, reportedly in the west. Footage of the incident began circulating via Bluetooth and while we cannot ascertain which primary school it happened, it is clear that the children performed before an audience of their peers. The question is how come the incident did not get the attention of teachers? And still yet are schools proving a safe and supervised environment? A representative from the Ministry of Education told News Five they did not know of the incident but will investigate. The images will be forwarded to NOPCAN and the N.C.F.C. for their review.

The depravation of common, decent values is hardly unique to Belize. Anyone who thinks they are safe from such debauchery is mistaken. America is just as bad if not worse than Belize. I have been all over the world, from France to Australia to the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave and have seen the best and the worst of each country. And although I have had the opportunity to stay in those places, those first world democracies, I chose to return to Belize to work for my own country rather than labouring to build progress in another man’s land.

That said, it IS disturbing to hear of this happening ON A SCHOOL CAMPUS. And at Primary Schools, makes it even worse. At this age, kids are not even aware of themselves, but negative influence makes them feel that they are.
Another thought flashes into my head: Where are the teachers? Teacher’s Assistant? SOMEONE that can patrol the yard and make sure kids are safe. I think the system needs to be re-vamped.

primary schools are not a safe haven for any student. there are many unrecorded acts of sexual misconduct and violence in these schools. but people rather keep quiet to not bring shame to their school than help these kids who obviouisly don’t understanding the consquences of their actions until its too late. i see school children run around outside the school grounds totally unsupervised!! in this day and age with all that is going on, parents should provide their kids with lunch kits and keep them in school until its time to leave or be picked up by a parent. no teacher will care for a child the way parents will…so acts of this nature will continue

I would like to know when will the Government of Belize enforce the death penalty? This would eliminate all these murders. Bellize use to be the land of paradise and now it is worst than most cities in the United States. This is a very small country to have so many felonies occuring. I don’t fell that the Belize government is doing enough to control the situation and it should request for assistance from Great Britain just the same as Jamaica did. Suck in your pride and do the right thing for the sake of the children.
We keep complaining about violence in our Country and our parents are not even doing the basic things for us ie supervising the kids,Their is something known as a password.In addition there is parental control on the Computer.If it means that your kid has to ask you for the password then by any means do so atleast you are going to know what he or she is doing on the computer.

Belize is getting real folks. The parenting is bad, the governing is bad, the economy is bad and the payment is bad, which leads parents to have to work harder to bring little home and spend less time with their children hence the poor children look for other forms of entertainment.
Also a lot of children go unsupervised and watch porn when their parents are not around and hence re-enact these things that they see on TV.
We need better supervision by parents and better opportunities for our people

We as Belizeans should look out for one another, I remember my grandma used to tell me that everyone used to look out for each other. Our Belizean parents are failing their children. Morality and discipline starts from within the home. Poverty is no excuse for the lack of basic manners and ignorance that our children of today has. Children learn from what they see in the home. It is the parents that are failing these kids each and every day. Parents need to be parents……practice tough love and keep those kids in line…..they will thank you when they become adults. Children need to know their place….children need to enjoy their childhood years….respect the parents and the home. It is these simple values taught at home that makes us productive morally stable individuals.

Unbelievable, when are Belizean authorities going to start to be leaders and stop following others. When are these so called pedagogy scholars going to learn that children need guidance to be raised to stay on the track. The teachers were probably out making their own videos with one another. I hear a lot about the relationship that staff/teachers are having within the schools.
I knew a girl like the one on that tape when I was in primary school. Now I realise that it was wrong but back then I did not know better. The girl I knew used to do things like that behind the school and everyone (except our standered 6 teacher of course)knew about it.
It is very likely that these children have been sexual abused, and are acting out what they have either experienced or witnessed. Punishment in school will not prevent this – social services needs to immediately intervene and get these poor VICTIMS into a safe home environment and the psychological help they desperately need.
