Big Tom presumed dead in the US
Last night News Five broke the news that thirty-three year old Kenneth “Big Tom” Flowers had been shot dead. The reports reaching us were that he suffered several wounds but did not die at the scene. He was rushed to a Utah hospital on Monday where he was pronounced dead. Other reports say Big Tom was killed in Atlanta, Georgia. His family told News Five today that they can’t confirm his death. His sisters said it’s all over Belize that Big Tom was killed but they have not received any factual information about his whereabouts and that he doesn’t have any next of kin in the US. The court this afternoon did not release his court records. From what we know Big Tom left for the US in 2008 and according to our records, on February twenty-second, 2002, at the age of twenty-four, Big Tom was remanded for the fatal shooting of thirty-six year old William Carl Osmond. Big Tom was also shot by two men the same weekend in 2002, but refused to cooperate with the police on that investigation allegedly because he claimed he was not a snitch. Though he remained tight lipped about the incident in which he was shot, four years later, in December of 2006, twenty-two year old Alpheus Smith was charged for shooting Big Tom and James Young. But one month prior, in November of 2006, Big Tom was charged along with Arthur Young for the possession of a Firearm, ammunition and drugs. Big Tom was believed to be an enforcer for the ‘Back Ah Town Crew’ between 2002 and 2007. In 2005, one Kenneth Flowers, thirty-eight years of age, was charged with rape, but Big Tom’s family denied he was involved in any carnal incident. While the family cannot confirm his death, sources close to News Five say that Big Tom is indeed dead.
And if Big Tom is indeed dead he sure got what he deserved, karma has a deep memory.
Perhaps he tried to pull the same bad deed or way of life there US, sound like some street justice, no problem.
Live by the gun..and the rest is history!
one less thug to worry about…
Probably tried to mess with someone in Utah the way he used to do it in Belize. What he didn’t realize is that there are two big differences. In Belize criminals can do anything they want, when they want with whoever they want because only criminals and the rich own guns. In Utah its a different story, Utah is gun country and if you try to pull off that Belize city thug crap chances are that some citizen will bust a cap in your narrow behind.
GOOD RIDDANCE
have some respect for the dead, if Belize had more opportunity for its people they wouldn’t have to do illegal things..
big tom a good person and will be missed..
respect for the dead? Did he show any for his victims and their families? One less for us all to worry about! would be nice if the rest of the thusgs & murderers got the same treatment – and soon. (Including some of those who are supposed to protect us).
Sparkle, you are an idiot…..
Live by the sword, die by the sword. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Wish a lot more of those thugs would go the same way, people like him have turned Belize City into the toilet of Central America.
It’s not fair how we as a developing nation (Little Belize) so small and yet so violent. We view these daily murders/homicides as part of our daily lives. As if it’s not normal to turn on the news and there are no shooting incidents. We feed off these horrors. These young men, like myself, where suppose to be the future of the nation. When we are conceive in this world our parents look at us hoping that were are the next PM, doctor, etc. or wishing that something positive becomes of us. They weren’t meant to be killers, thugs, gang enforcers, or whatever insinuating adjective the media wants to define us as; but were born to survive. Big Tom was no angel, everybody knows that, yes he live by the gun and it may have took his life and we all know that he had no remorse for the lives he may have took. I’m no judge. But t hat didn’t mean that we should celebrate and criticize unjustifiable death. Who are we to say “Dah good fuh ahh.” We and or those that knew him should have tried to make a difference in his life and at least encourage him to be positive and make a change. If you were around him and could have and didn’t then it’s time for you reach out and try to make a difference in someone that you may know that is living the same way before the same thing happens to him or you are affected. Trust me stay positive and have faith and you will be safe. If he is, ‘condolences to the family and friends’
Just a taught: “The living knows that they shall die but the dead know not anything”
SCUM BAG!
Ganzy, I disagree with you…because even when you help people and try to steer them in a healthy direction, in the end it’s up to them to make that decision. And I know Big Tom had a lot of people who loved and respected him and yet he still didn’t want to listen to them. Big Tom came to the U.S. to escape from what he was caught up in and still couldn’t run away and live a clean life even if he wanted to. Because what you let out of yourself comes right back to you in a complete circle.
In saying this, all the criminals in the world who kill and give no thought of what they are doing have to face their judgement day. So we all know that Big Tom killed and in return he was tracked down and killed.
What these thugs, gangsters and young men should realise is that living the life in the streets is not the way to go. Nothing last for ever. So there’s a beginning so there’s an end! His actions just piled up and caught up with him. He had no where to hide even if he thought he did. And yes, God do forgive and save, but every one knows the law of the Ten Commandments: Thou shall not kill. it is sad to see another soul deleted from this life, but we have to ask our selves…was he good to his neighbors? I do feel for his loved ones…but we can’t forget to feel for the victims that have lost their loved ones due to Big Tom’s deeds.
And to respond to why most of us log on to Belize news to view the lastest news is because we have loved ones or we care for our country.
The only thing I agree with you, is yes the government of Belize should offer more opportunities to youths and people after they have completed their education, but the reality of that is that the immigrants (non-Belizeans) are getting all the jobs. They are comfortable to work for little or no pay…while the Belizean born would like to work for what they call “real money.” In ending, If the government of Belize want the crimes to decrease then they have to take action to put these youths to work, so they can have some type of self worth…than trying to find self worth in the streets…which is the wrong place to seek self worth.
Blessings to all the clean hearted people!
So true Ganzy, I totally agree. Instead of us pointing fingers and judging, we sould all stand up and start making a difference. Am not saying its gonna be easy, but its sure worth a try.
He was a changing Man in progress!!! R.I.P.
I don’t see anyone talking …. now! LOL. They must know by now, He ain’t dead! LMAO
