Belizean-American cop clinging to life in Florida

Michael Paul Robertson

A Belizean is clinging to life in the U.S. after being violently attacked and left lying in a pool of blood on the streets of Liberty City, Miami. Carlos Castillo, a Belizean-American detective for the Miami-Dade Police Department for the past fifteen years, was on duty last Friday night when he pulled over Michael Paul Robertson. Robertson is an ex-con who was wanted for firing a gun during an argument with the mother of his child.  Robertson ran from his vehicle when the officer stopped him, leaving his girlfriend twenty-five year old Monica Banks in the car.  While the cop was placing the handcuffs on Banks, Robertson returned with a concrete block and hit the officer over his head with it. Castillo was hit with such force that the block broke on impact. Banks looked on as Robertson proceeded to kick the uniformed officer in the head and chest when he fell on the street. The attack only got worse and Robertson got into Castillo’s vehicle, a Dodge Charger, and drove over the detective before fleeing the scene. Castillo was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center in Miami with fractures to his skull, brain damage, a liver laceration, seven broken ribs and a spine injury among others. Police were later informed that Robertson was hiding at a house nearby and he was detained. Bank was also detained as an accomplice and they couple was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder. Robertson was additionally charged with Robbery/Carjacking, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm.

I SAW THE NEWS THIS WEEKEND AND IMMEDIATELY SENT UP PRAYERS ON BEHALF OF THIS OFFICER AND HIS FAMILY. GOD IS ABLE TO DO EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL THAT WE CAN ASK OR EVEN THINK. AS DESPERATE AS THIS SITUATION AND HIS CONDITION MAY SEEM, MY GOD IS ABLE.

    Manford:

“Leave this alone”….? Why would you say that?

Whatever your reasons are, you make no sense. The guy was just doing his job, trying to apprehend a wanted felon, and he deserves to get beat to within an inch of his life?

How do you justify that, in the US or in Belize?
