Illegal vehicle parts confiscated at Guatemalan border
A joint police/Belize Defense Force operation last night resulted in the seizure of three boxes of vehicle parts when three men entering Belize from the western border decided to abandon the boxes of vehicle parts and flee back to the Guatemalan side. The incident happened around nine on Sunday night on the Belizean side of the border. According to Officer Commanding the Benque Police formation, Inspector Claudio Mai, the men, believed to be Belizeans, were apparently startled by the presence of the authorities and dropped the boxes upon entry into Belize before heading back across the border. But a misunderstanding erupted between police and B.D.F. over who had custody over the items. Eventually, the police won the debate and took custody of the goods pending investigations.

Thanks GOD the BDF did not kill anyone this time.after all they are known to kill belizeans who dont carry a gun,but have never seen one in their life.and what does the BDF have to do with confiscating contraband?sounds like the BDF and police were goin to sell the contraband.hahaha.
Its always the same story with the police, pending investigations. why don’t the police understand that the public is aware of their incompetence. Contraband goods are a customs matter. They can’t do the job they are given, but they are so eager to try and do someone’s else job. What is there to investigate ? This obnoxious bullying behavior by the police should not be encouraged. The police have no authority to prosecute customs matters, or maybe this is not know to them.
what a shame fighting for the custody of the items. damn we’re really in trouble here now. looks like the police got the power over the b.d.force. do they get high ranking when they do this things.
shame on silly police. the matter with police nowadays is to hustle . them greedy to make money but not to fulfill their job. every time them mention about ongoing investigation, but never heard of that ongoing investigation how it end at last. so what you think happen ? they sell the stuff with out ppl knowing the solution as to what happen to the stuff and how the investigation done. that’s the same thing the are trying to do out there again. those police lucky indeed he never get kill. cause bdf say “one shot one kill. ” maybe this time police over power the bdf but not all the time. some are lucky some are not. they supposed to think about themselve how they are treating the bdf. with out the bdf they are not brave enough to go do their patrolling alone.
i bet bdf are the leader to that contraband stuff the come across but them don’t want to look bad that’s why they are trying their best to do like da them find the stuff first.
you think if they are alone , you think they will come across this. guatemalan ppl or person who soever trying to bring that stuff whould runway? hell no the police woulda get it right deh .
but they don’t think like that.
so come on police.
do your job properly .
Nothing new here. The police is known to take bribes in order for contraband to come in. Why would these people bringing contraband even bother to come through the border? There is Arenal, all you have to do is give the guards enough guatemalan beers I wonder how often their refrigerator at the arenal station is checked. The police and some BDF members are known to get their beers and colas from the guatemalan side as payoff for not being on the road. nothing new here!!
Or even perhaps pay cash – This sounds like a victorino move, hahahha! I wonder what he did with the recording available showing this police receiving money for letting drugs through. I wonder if he is not doing the same at jalacte – where he was transferred – all hush hush!
Have you ever been to a party hosted by a police? wonder why they never are serving local beers? jajajaja, try in Benque anytime.
sorry I’m no lawyer but were the vehicle parts illegal? What makes them illegal? are they counterfeited or or if used something bad will happen? Im sure the act of bringing them into Belize (without paying Belize’s exhorbitant duties) is illegal but that doesnt make the parts illegal.
The comments that were recieved on this site to me seem very naive. Both the Police and the members of the Belize Defence Force are to aid any form of civil authority and the BDF has been known to assist with Customs situations from the North of Belize to the very South. I feel sadden by the impression that has been left in the minds and hearts of our Belizeans and I honestly believe such issues are to be dealt with internally. It saddens me to see that every little issue that the military and the police faces, they run to the media. The BDF has it’s own court system and rarely ever uses it. For this reason we are depleting our credibility to the Belizean public. There was a time when we were respected in our country. Issues like this shouldn’t be occuring and I pray and hope that these forces as well as the Minister come together to solve these issues!

Need not worry my fellow belizeans, the time is coming when the law of the land will prevail, the is coming when a new face on the political arean will surface after 30 years when all ills will be made well, all wrongs made right and all idiosyncrancries will be eliminated for good. Our country will be made whole once again, the politicians and thier lackies will all be imprisoned and the Guatemalan issue be put to rest, even if it means death to some of our citizens. This will be a sacfifice we all must be willing to take if we are to take our country back.
Education will be the norm of the country – all members of the cabinet will have a degree, Masters at best because we will work and I am coming back home to purge the country of governmental corruptions. Presenly I have earned my AAsc, BSTM, and MBA hoping to complete my Dr, in Law and hope to do another Phd in Economics and Technology. When complete I will be back home to take on the policians and the Belizean System. So my people – “HAVE FAITH”.
