“Wappa” releases new CD with a message against violence

They say music makes the world go round, but if it were up to one young man, he would use his music to put an end to violence. Hugh Dyer, a resident of Hattieville, is so passionate about the level of crime and violence in Belize that he is using his talent to send that message through a medium which most youths are into – music.

“Wid punta, riddim and ting due to Concigo and Continental Cat, me and dehn di work and ting so dah through dehn ah get fi do it and ting.”

“Yeah, fi stop di violence and ting, especially dehn man weh di kill out di man dehn inna di city and di man dehn weh di set di hit dehn fi kill man and dehn ting deh weh no mek no sense. Den deh dah di ting dehn weh ah di base pan eena di song.”

“Den I got wah next one too fi dehn man weh di breed up di young gial round di place and noh want tek care ah dehn pickney dehn yoh dig. Like some ah dehn got some daughter and ting, if dah mi wah bwai ih noh bad but yoh have to tek care ah yoh daughter. So I bring out wah song fi dat too.”
The CD sells for ten dollars each and will be available in most music stores by Friday.
There’s no better way in getting D positive vibes to our youths tru music. Music, one of the most powerful tool that can make our world (Jewel) better, or worst, it depends how we utilize it. Keep up the good work Wappa and I hope the rest of our artist follow what you are doing.
It is a shame that the Buckley family now have to appeal for public assitance to help them with mounting medical bills for their love one. The government should take full responsibility in taking care of these bills and to further assist the family once Mr Buckley is released from the hospital.
